My old stuff

All over

As I have mentioned in various contexts, I am sorting stuff at the house, including the wordrobes with lots of items of clothing, shoes etc. I have dealt with most of the surplus of shoes which has mostly gone/going to charity (thanks for the advise from some of you as was not sure that charities accept shoes).

In the same process, I also came across some lovely clothes that have not worn for years. Most still fit me but you always worry if are age appropriate now. Do you wear what you like or worry what others might think? Does the label 'mutton dressed as lamb' worry you or not at all? I must say I am a bit more conservative with what I wear now compared to what I did but tempted to use some of my favourite stuff again. Not all are understated I must add (design wise that is, used to be into my designer stuff but not really at all theses days). Perhaps should just do what I did with the shoes and donate to a good charity. Tempted to put one or two stuff on ebay though as could fetch a bit of money to fund tbe purchase of some stuff that I feel comfortable wearing now. Anyway, just thinking aloud I suppose.

The term mutton dressed as lamb shouldn't be a thing. I think people should wear what they want to

I was and I am still into designer clothes.

I don't really care what people say it's what I feel good in.

I dress in a way that often surprises people because they don't expect a woman of my age to wear the clothes that I do.

Wear your stuff MB, please, I bet you look great.

Ignore the fashion heroes. Dress age appropriate and don't disgrace yourself. 58 in ripped jeans? It's not a good look, save it for the skateboarders.

The day you start worrying about whether an item is age appropriate or not, is the day you age

If it fits, if you like it, wear it

I wear clothes for me, not the audience

Mutton dressed as mutton is my style. I don't give a monkeys what people think about what I wear, though when I wore a suit for my daughter's wedding last week friends complimented me when they saw the photos.

Was glad to get home and into tee shirt and shorts, though.

Tonypandy.

Dont think my clothing has changed much in 30 years. Skinny jeans, leather jackets, t-shirts and army boots never age.

I live in vest and shorts and flip flops this time of year but I never worry about whether it is age appropriate or not, I never understood the dressing your age thing a few of my mates are starting to dress like old men as if they now can’t wear younger clothes since we in our forties haha

Do what you want, wear what you want, because those who matter, don't mind, and those who mind, don't matter.

She looked really great. Hair, clothes...everything. Rod Stewart looked pretty good too and I think he's 80. He wore his trade mark tight trousers to start, then a pink suit and finally a green suit.

I am beginning to think I am keeping everything. Even my crochet ruffle shirt, the fake crocodile boots, my side zipped pants and crew neck lime green velvet top

I wish I could fit into clothes I wore in my 20s.

Not that I'd feel the need to bop about in a shiny shell suit, but, it would be nice to have the option.

True but the clothes they both wear aren't what anyone would refer to as 'age appropriate ' any of us could wear similar if not as expensive.
