"Good luck with quitting smoking, it's well worth it. I have learned nothing this week. 😳" Thanks MrsN. I know I should've done it a long time ago, but better late than never 😊
"I've discovered spending time with grandchildren is priceless, don't ever miss out on it" This is lovely 😊 I recently learned that my son and his partner have decided not to have children. I am a little sad I won't be a grandmother, but I totally respect their decision to do what's right for them 🫶
"...Has This Week Taught You? Now over to you, you fabulous forumites 😁 ..." I can relate to all 3 of your things...not all in the same week. Congrats on the smoking..13 years later I still love the smell but my habit is just sniffing smokers now 🥰 Learnt this week that although I'm a good judge of character, people are just unpredictable and I can accept it and move on without caring whether they tell me truth or lies... Have also moved a step closer to doing something that only benefits me. Self love goals 😍

Wow, congrats 👏 If I make it past a week I'll be happy. 😂 I'm loving the idea of your sniffing fetish. Do you not get strange looks? ![]()

"Congratulations on the smoking. I gave up 2 1/2 years ago after being on 40 for 46 years. Not only am I lots better of financially I no longer stink. Ive learnt nothing this week" Thanks 💎😁 How was it for you? Did you go cold turkey, or have some help. I tried two days without anything, but am now using a vape for a little. Financially, omg yes, I was spending £40 a week on tobacco. And, the smell...I've already had the curtains down and in the wash! What do you, and MrsNice, mean you've learnt nothing this week? You are both stalwarts of this Fabulous community 🫶 Surely everyday is a learning day here 😂

"I went cold turkey but fir the first three weeks I was ill and just never started again. I still couldn't be trusted if I had a packet in the house. I cope by staying away from smokers" Yes, I've now got rid of the tobacco, ashtray, everything, because I don't trust myself. And I've also been wondering how I'll cope...as I have friends who still smoke 🤷♀️
"Stay strong on the no smoking op. My dad gave up in his 40s, funny thing being. When he became a non smoker, he detested smokers and very much looked down on them 😂 What have I learned this week? Absolutely nothing 🤷🏽♂️" Thank you 🫶 Oh, I hope I don't become like that. As I've just said to Diamond, I have friends who still smoke, so I hope I don't alienate them. Another one who says they learned absolutely nothing this week! Sounds like a Fab Masterclass in Self Reflection might be needed 🤣
"1) Fab is not a waste of time - I agree 😊 It's been my lifeline at times, so I'd be lost without it. 2) need to get into better shape - You and me both. My weight loss has been slow...4st in 2 years... but I strive everyday to become the fitter, healthier version of me that I need and deserve to be. 3) there are still lovley people in the world " - Yes, this too ... and it doesn't take much effort to find them 😊

"To put myself first for once and i did for a few days. Also to be positive, look forward and remember who you are and what you are capable of.... more than you realise sometimes." This is great to hear Speedy. I know from experience how difficult it is to put yourself first. It's in our nature to care about others. But I've learned that it is vital to our mental health to prioritize our own wellbeing. I've had some really fun, positive interactions with you on the forum and I value that...thank you 🫶 Just keep being you and remember, it's okay to not feel positive all of the time 🫂

"Learned that when all the little unnoticed things you do get noticed, it means a lot. " I get where you're coming from, I feel the same x Btw, thank you for your threads, they are so much fun and I love posting in them...they always seem to put me in the horniest of moods..I wonder why 🤣💋
"I don’t think I’ve learned anything this week, but good on you getting this far with no smoking! " Thanks -Effy- 🫶 I'm getting there. Also loving your presence in the forums. Keep being you gorgeous lady 😁 x

" Now over to you, you fabulous forumites 😁 ... I have gone through pretty much the same. I believe its made me stronger, makes me more balanced and also a better person and maybe gives me a better outlook on a lot of things..." I'm sorry that you too have faced similar experiences Joe. And like you, I also believe that going through them makes us stronger. They may hurt like he'll at the time but they are life lessons, needed to help us grow. I recently read a great book..'The Full Moon Coffee Shop' by Mai Mochizuki, recommended by a forumite (thanks EvaRose 🫶) and it talks of the different phases of life we go through ... it says it isn't until we are between 36 and 45 years old, that we finally step into adulthood, and taking ownership of everything we have previously learned. But I believe it goes beyond 45...life is a never-ending process of learning ☺️
"Work: Trying to get a job finished, as I'm now on holiday for a week. Proved impossible. Patience is a virtue, which I've never, nor never will, possess. If someone can fuck it up. (Me.)they will." Morning Chris, Oh I hear you...on all three counts. I was the most impatient person ever ... until I turned 50. I don't what changed, but now I'm like 'meh, it'll happen when it's ready to happen.' 🤷♀️ Enjoy your well deserved holiday 😁

"This week I’ve been doing a deep dive into some research papers for my nerve pain condition so I’ve learned a fair bit. Congratulations on quitting OP" Thanks Eva. Just taking it a day at a time 😖😂 Ooh, I'm like this too with my medical conditions. I've lost count of the number of medical papers I've delved into over the years. Sometimes it can be a little disheartening when you don't find answers, but when something does stand out, it fills you with positivity and hope. I'm so pleased you've learned a fair bit. I hope this is a step towards easing/eradicating your nerve pain 🙏 Sending love and hugs x

"Keep going with quitting smoking, it’s one of the best choices you’ve made( and you know that’s true), and you’ve got this. 👍🏻 Me - losing a a loved one last month brings perspective to how short life is, and has me look at my life and my ultimate. death in a different way. It’s knocked my sexiness out of whack. Is mum watching what I get upto now? ![]() Hi Baron, I'm so sorry to read this. It certainly does make you realise how precious life is. I'm not going to laugh at your joke, that's special to you...but I do get it. Since my best friend died, I often think I can hear her talking to me, usually when I'm contemplating something relating to Fab or sex 🤣 She was the one who, whenever I asked if she wanted to join me on a walk, she would reply, "Darling, you know the only exercise I ever engage in is horizontal jogging!" 🤣 God, I miss her. It's bound to have knocked your sexiness out of whack, you're going through the grieving process. Just give yourself time. And even then, don't worry what anyone else thinks...just do what's right for YOU x You don't need a lot in life to be happy and content. 6 years ago I had a great job, a decent salary, and went abroad twice a year. Then I was very ill and my life changed massively. Like you said, I may not have a lot, but I have enough, and I am happier now than I ever have been 😊 Be kind to yourself Baron. Sending hugs 🫶

And I'm sure we will have many more fun chats ... probably not about ice cream on top of porridge though 🤣 Btw, being a Leo, I am utterly in awe of that lion on your arm, so I've given it a cheeky Fab. Chat soon x
"...Has This Week Taught You? 1. Had I known how difficult it is to quit smoking, I would never have started in the first place! But, 4 days in, I am determined to keep going! 😁 ..." Firstly, Good for you. This is one of the bets thigns oyu do for your self. Secondly, what worked for me was every time I felt a craving, I would chew one, or two VERY strong menthon chewing gums, while imagening smoking a ciggy. The menthol cools the air in to your lungs, and you can fool your brain in to thinking its smoke. Worked wonders for me! Hope it helps you too.

"This is a good one OP!! 1. That I am happier now than I have probably been in my adult life, it’s been a long way to get here but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! 2. I have to keep working on myself and being the most genuine authentic version of myself and doing that is an active choice! 3. I actually quite like people and being around people that accept me for who I am is just a wonderful feeling! " Hi M. Thank you, that's so nice of you to say. I'm thrilled to hear how happy and positive you are. We are always a work in progress...learning from our different experiences to make us stronger going forward. It's great you're working to become the best version of you; but don't forget to pause and take a breath once in a while. Don't think about the next step you need to take to reach that goal. Just BE in the moment. My mind is a constant hive of activity, even when I sleep, so I frequently have to press the pause button. The only way I manage this is with meditation... 10mins, 30mins, an hour. It doesn't matter how long. I just shut out the world and be ME! "I actually quite like people" ... is my favourite comment of yours and it's made me smile 😁 Now I've lowered my defences and started to trust again, I too am thoroughly enjoying being around people. Long may that wonderful feeling continue for you M 🫂 🫶

"Perseverance helps in life, small wins can get you closer to the goals you set. Jet2 customer service is actually very helpful. Communication is key when working in a team, when you point a finger at someone else there's usually 3 pointing back at you so make sure you are flawless before highlighting everyone around you is flawed, it just reflects badly on you. " Hi Ted, Perseverance is my middle name (well, one of 😂) ... it took me 10 years to complete my Open Uni degree and my initial goal, the reason I started it, is now unachievable, so tbh my current mindset is ...I'm glad to see the effing back of it 🤷♀️ Is there a specific goal you are striving to achieve? Does this link to your valuable lesson in communication skills? I no longer work, but when I did it was within a small team, where finger pointing was common practice, albeit unintentionally. We ended up having team meetings to discuss the negativity from the previous team meeting. It was ridiculous 🙄 It sounds as if you are about to embark on a holiday ... enjoy 🫶
"People are twats People are twats That I need to avoid people ![]() Aww, Missilia...it makes me sad to read this. I hope you are okay 🙏 We all know that both in real life and here on Fab... especially here on Fab, there are an enormous number of utter TWATS! I've even met a fair few of them! So yes, definitely avoid them. But there are just as many beautiful and kind souls here too 😊 Whatever it is that has caused you to feel this way, I'm sure it will be short-lived, and if you feel that having a rant at a complete stranger would help, then my inbox is always open. Sending love and hugs 🫶 x

"What really helped me giving up smoking was to associate a feeling of nausea with it. When I wanted to smoke I'd conjure up that nausea and it really helped. Best of luck you can do it!!" Morning Catnip. I'm not sure conjuring up feelings of nausea would be a good idea for me I'm afraid...I already suffer with awful nausea on a daily basis, in relation to health conditions. But I do really appreciate your best wishes, thank you 🫶

Thank you for your wishes 🫶 and for the tip too. I do have a vape, but I'm trying not to use it too often. So, yesterday I tried some gum (Airwaves Menthol & Eucalyptus) and it really helped, thank you. What I'm really enjoying is that already my sense of smell and taste has improved enormously 😊😋
"i gave up smoking 48 years ago after smoking 60 a day after any tries went Cold turkey if you can give up for 24 hours each day get better , good luck to you all best thing i have done . " Morning zak. That is impressive, congrats. Yeah, I failed pretty miserably at going cold turkey. After a couple of days I resorted to a vape, but I'm feeling quite positive that I won't be using it for too long...each passing day is getting easier. Thank you for your best wishes 🫶

"People are twats People are twats That I need to avoid people ![]() Thank you beautiful lady, that offer is very much appreciated. I am fine, had a rough day at work dealing with entitled parents who believe the sun rises and sets for their kids alone. I usually brush it off but that day really got to me Hugs and love back at ya 🥰 xx
"People are twats People are twats That I need to avoid people ![]() I'm so pleased to wake up and read you're ok. I'm glad you used this space to let out how you were feeling yesterday. It's taken me a long time to understand the importance of sharing with like-minded people, who are kind and supportive, particularly when we're having a rough day. I completely understand where you're at with 'entitled parents'. I had to walk away from mine for the sake of my mental health. In Feb, after 7 years estrangement, my mum had a massive stroke, so of course I stepped in to help care for her (unlike my two brothers); but 6 months later, she's reverted to her old self...and I can't be around that negativity, so 🤷♀️ Anyway, have yourself a peaceful and relaxing Sunday if you can. You know where I am if you need a chat xx
