What do you think about someone showing their face on here? Foolish? Bold? Does it make you more or less likely to reply?
Vested interest aside, genuinely interested to hear people’s thoughts. |

My face is all over my profile, if it puts someone off then it puts someone off.
If someone is more cautious then that's fine of course but I would like to recieve a photo so I know who I'm talking to. |

Definitely not. At an organised social, I (Fr) was approached by a young lady who was very bubbly and chatty. She then proceeded to tell me she knew my kids and had been in my house. I know we're all on here for the same thing but to us it was a tad unnerving. |

Each to their own, though so many have regretted it over the years. |

"When I get one of those profile stalkers, always viewing, constantly sending messages, you know the drill, I just send them a face photo and that usually puts a stop too it. "
Even a stalker’d be welcome at this point |

Depends on what they have to lose? If they are married/in a relationship, have a job that requires a bit of decorum/is public facing, then I think it could be riskier.
However, everyone who shows their face is open to attracting that one weirdo who makes their life hell and threatens them with exposure etc.
Got to weigh your pros and cons I guess. |

Personally I prefer it. I am a very distinctive looking woman, I am recognised a lot anyway so it seems absolutely pointless hiding my face. I have far more respect for people who are open about who they are, their desires etc. We are adults, we know how to behave here and in the real world and if we don't, we have no place being here face pics or not. |

We’re not hiding so may aswell see who we are from the start. We only meet in clubs so if we hide ourselves on here it makes it harder to be recognised in a club. If you see us come say hi we don’t always bite |

"Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks. The "because of my job" line always makes me chuckle though. Are you a cabinet minister or Jeff Bezos?"
I believe The ‘because of my job’ reason is more that people don’t want to be potentially recognised in the workplace and would rather keep their profession and private life very separate. |

You don't have to be a cabinet minister to seriously compromise you career by being identified on here. |

Exactly this for me.
I have a highly professional job where they really care about reputational damage, and I am fairly certain my employer would also not look kindly on me having half naked photos of myself online. So I rarely display my full face publicly on my profile.
I don't want someone from work stumbling across my profile with their anonymous silhouette, taking screenshots and either reporting me or holding it over me.
My family and close friends knows that I am in this lifestyle, but I don't want my work colleagues or employer to know. |

I’m a strong believer in the separation of church and state.
(Hello, I’m RTG and it’s been 24 years, one month and something like three days since I last fucked a work colleague. Apart from the one I married. I’ve been good (ish) since.) |

I don't mind other people having their face on display if that's what they want but I have seen too many chat groups over the years using personal information as currency to ever have mine on here.
The only issue I have with some people and face pics is that quite often they are sneery of those who don't have any and their "I don't give a fuck" attitude can lead to them being less than discreet with other people's information. |

I think it just boils down to personal preference and what you find most comfortable as a couple or individual. We feel uncomfortable showing nsfw type photos (nude or not) on our public profile and find it pointless to sensor what we share. We have nothing to hide and if someone were to recognise us, we’re all here for the same reasons so no harm no foul. This is just our opinion though, and totally understand and respect that others might not agree or have a different view to us. At the end of the day, as long as you feel comfortable with how you present yourself, that’s all that matters. We’re not going to judge someone either way! |

I have no issues with putting my face on display but reading some comments have a greater understanding why some don't. I can imagine if after some conversation if there is trust then a private pic of face can be sent |

I don't show my face on here because I cannot think of a compelling reason to do so. Not showing my face is my default mode.
I suppose my face isn't on display because I wish to concertedly mask my heritage and avoid the subconscious bias. |

I don't care if a profile has a public pic or not as i don't most of the time, I do expect face pics from both sides to be swapped if we are to continue chatting. |

Personally, I’d rather be private but a) my body’s pretty average and b) I’m not packing a third arm -tragically, I think my face is one of my least worst assets. I fear I’d never stand a chance if I didn’t at least flash my peepers once in a while |

Tell that to Phillip Schofield "

If it were a dating site, absolutely. But it's not. For me it's more intimate. No idea who I know who may be lurking on here. Happy to send in private even without the promise of a potential meet. Personal preference I suppose. |

My face doesn't go in my public pics but if I've been chatting and am seriously considering meeting someone then Im happy to share a face pic. I wont send one until I'm comfortable to do so though and if the other party cant respect that boundary then they can just move on as far as im concerned. |

I wouldn't have my face in public, too many creepy people on here who wouldn't think twice about approaching you away from here.
I find if quite refreshing to see a face pic on a man's profile, but totally get why they are often private or friends only. |

Putting your face pic public is for people who believe they have nothing to lose if people from their real life find them here. Or that it holds no risk to their safety or livelihood. Personally I think that's ridiculously naive.
And partial facepics are far far more revealing than people believe.
I have bills to pay and consider sex a private area of my life. Private does not equal shame.
Private means I don't want my nextdoor neighbour perving me then nodding hello in the drive way thinking about the pic I just uploaded.
Or the weird guy 1mile down the road walking his dog past my house every day trying to see in my windows.
Or on the school runs getting a creepy nudge nudge wink wink at the school gates.
I'm here for simple fun and normal chats and a spicy social.
Not looking a stalker, or a public shaming or to permanently lose all means to pay my mortgage, or another round of drama from my exhusband.
I'm happy to share a facepic with a person but it's on my own terms, in my own time, and after I weigh up the possibility of lives crossing & risk. |

I had my face pic public when I first joined until one idiot who recognised me sent a msg to say so and named the street I lived on. His account was vague and I have no clue who he is either (wouldn't tell me) as he's in a relationship with kids and is on the site to meet M & Fs.
He did apologise when I let him know how inappropriate the msg was but now my face is for friends only. |

AI is screen scrap-ing the entire Internet now and cross indexing facial recognition data, Privacy is no longer a thing no matter what you think the law says.
And given all it needs is an unvetted £5 access to get an unlimited profile on here, whats not to say one of the profiles here is already an AI bot scra-pping everyones pictures for a dark web use. And definitely already done if your profile is public.
Real-world examples of AI scra-ping
• Clearview AI: The facial recognition company Clearview AI amassed a database of over 20 billion images scra-ped from social media and other web sources without user consent and know once it's copied and replicated on servers world wide, you never ever get control of it back.
Then, do yourself a favour, take a screen grab of a face pic on your profile upload it to clarity check web site reverse lookup and shit yourself at what it lists about your digital footprint and that from there a stranger can work out where you roughly live, your social media accs, where you possibly work, who could be your family and work and social and friend contacts are, etc, etc.
Now reflect on the last weirdo who messaged you and know that person has access to all that info if they want to look you up and get intrusive in your life.
This is not about someone on here maybe recognising you, that's low risk, it's now about the Internet continuously looking to identify everything about all of us all the time and linking all aspects of our lives together through large data sets that is increasingly making this once private data accessible to anyone and everyone.
Sad times but protecing your privacy and identiy has become a lot harder sadly.
