'Tunes for all the Feels' 🎵🎶 🥹🥰

...because of the song itself, because of the feeling it generates, or because of a memory it triggers; what tune get you all emotional; feeling all the feels? (Highs, not lows)
C'mon, let's build a euphoric/emotive playlist....

A few of mine are;
• Cinematic Orchestra - "to build a home" (Simply haunting)
• The Streets - "Empty Cans" (the piano kicking in and the 'NO SHIT' give me goosebumps every time)
• Coldplay - "Fix you" (and I don't even like Coldplay!)
• Woodkid - "Run Boy Run" (from spin-class! The percussion hits you from the inside out!)
• Oasis - "Live Forever" (associate with my best mates funeral)
• Jeff Buckley - "Lover you should've come over" (tough break-ups!)
• Frank Sinatra - "My Way" (Can't sing without a lump in my throat)
• George Michael - "Freedom 90" (a listen twice it's so good feelgood tune!)
• Faithless - "Insomnia" (30 years old this week!!😖)
• Björk - "Hyper-ballad" (lyrically; breaks me, but the backing is just to uplifting. also, can't listen to this without moving onto...)
• Björk - "Big time Sensuality: The Fluke Minimix"
• David Bowie - "Space Oddity" (Thanks to Walter Mitty! Pretty much the rest of that soundtrack too!)
• Tom Jones - "Green Green grass of home" (obvious reasons!)

"Mr Blue Sky. ELO..never fails to make people happy "
This is one of mine for sure!!
...also read the other day, The lyric most hear as "Mr. Blue Sky" at the song's end is actually "Please turn me over," (I know I did!), it's a prompt for vinyl listeners! Jeff Lynne confirmed this, saying it was meant to tell listeners to flip the record to side B!! |

up a bit, right a bit...that's the spot |
Far too many to list. Music has always been a big part of my life, so every song on my playlist will take me to a different time and place.
If I had to choose just one, it would probably be Son of a Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield |

Kraftwerk - Tour de France. I remember listening this cycling to school, the music takes me back to that time.
Rammstein - Ich tu dir weh. After watching them live, the music, the stage presence, just cannot be beaten.
Carl Orff - Carmina Burana. Heard this being played on an organ, the feelings just can't be matched. |

"Weak by Skunk Anansie.. " 🥰
That combination of Skin's voice and their sound, definitely a good shout!! For me, they were my era when 'Stoosh' came out (one of my all time favourite albums). Hedonism, Infidelity, Brazen & Twisted, all tick the 'feels' box for me.
Reminded me of another one too; same era, female vocalist, outspoken...
Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know" is beyond powerful, turns me into a raging scorn woman every time!! 🤣🤣 (it's another 'so good you have to listen twice' track) |

"Just to put me in a good mood - one that pulls me out of a funk and will usually get my booty up and shaking...
Tell me something good - Ewan McVicar
"
Didn't know this one til I put it on, then realised I knew an older version; Rufus and Chaka Khan. Love it! |

"Frank Turner Redemption
Stereophonics Dakota
Massive Attack Unfinished Symphony
Simple Minds Promised you a Miracle
Probably loads more but those tracks get me everytime"
Dakota is another one for me... Long time ago at a little mini-festival near me, a covers band did it and had my lad (who was only five or six at the time) up on stage, gave him a tambourine and a mic so he could blast out the "Feeeel like the One" 🥰 Cuteness overload stole the show!!! |

"John Farnham "Your the voice"
Kick ass from the start!😎"

I do have a soft spot for some soft-rock, this is a classic for sure! Mr. Mister's 'Broken Wings' and Don Henley's 'Boys of Summer'; same effect! |

The only 2 songs that make me emotional and only one of them makes me cry - Still the same by Bob Segar and the silver bullet band and surprisingly Said it all by Take that. Both remind me of my world crumbling around me, but the Said it all lyric gets me as that was on at the time and we really had said it all. That song is the realisation I had lost my children. Heartbreaking.
Happy songs are plentiful - You to me are everything by the Real thing is "our song", and that always brings a smile to my face

"Have you heard "high falls " by the Allman Brothers? It's an instrumental
So they did something other than 'Jessica'?" 🚗🚙🚘🚙🚕
🤣🤣🤣 Oh hell yes!!!
...Maybe not for this thread, but 'Whipping Post' is a stone cold classic. And if you have 33 minutes to spare, put on 'Mountain Jam' from the album 'eat a peach'; just sublime live audio gold! |
