Am I the only one that send people messages stay how good they look, or on a good profile etc?
I never expect anything in return, maybe a thanks but that’s it. It’s just nice to be friendly. |

I used to send a lot of messages like that.
But after seeing a thread on here about how some of the couples & single women don't like that, as they believed everyone who did that had ulterior motives, I've cut back. There were other reasons as well but I can't remember them now. |

No, not really. A fabbed pic or two will tell them I liked what I saw (if they check).
Isn't that a lot of wasted time, OP - just firing off what is effectively junk mail that you don't want people to respond to? |

We get occasional compliments. Quite a few are from people who are too far away to meet so we assume they're genuine. It does depend on the compliment of course, saying we look good 'for our age' doesn't land as intended  and saying things like we have the best pictures on the site or look half our age are just not credible. We have had one or two where the person says something like 'just wanted to say you look great. No response expected' followed by a brief thanks for any reply. |

Nothing wrong with taking the time to appreciate a god looking member. Might be a waste of time to some but each to there own. I have on a few occasions complimented and wished people well. Nothing wrong with it I don't think |

I think given the nature of the site its fair to assume that most compliments are given with a view to at least engaging in conversation. It doesn't mean they aren't genuine.
It would be naive imo to think that the majority of people are just being nice and expect nothing in return.
There are exceptions as I said in my previous post.

Nobody owes you a reply.
Messaging someone will allow them to message you again if you have your filters up at a later date.
I want my filters to work when I use them so I dont reply. |

I've messaged women before because I've seen lingerie I recognise, think they look fantastic in it and want to say that they look great. Or there was one woman from a couple and she had the most glorious hair/figure combination in a VR headset photo.
I give a compliment because it's meant and that's all there is to it (as in random people I don't know).

Sadly this is so true. We get plenty of messages complimenting us and while occasionally it’s a genuine compliment, when we reply to say thanks, 95% take that as a chance to try and open a conversation or just send something totally inappropriate. Fortunately the block button sorts that out 😂 |

I get loads usually...nice tits...good arse type though so don't really bother with them.
Don't really bother looking at fabs either.
Every now and then I get a decent one and respond as it's not been sexual and been about a comment or something. |

Most of the time here, a compliment here isn't just a compliment, it's a way in.
They're also wildly insincere - the moments I've taken my message filters down, I get told how outrageously sexy I am. Lads, it's a parsnip. Settle down.
I don't reply - if it really is just to be nice, congratulations, you've been nice. If it's for ulterior motives - well, often I get a follow up message throwing toys out of prams. |

No, I know. It sounds harsher than it meant to now I read it back. A genuine compliment is obviously a nice thing.
I just meant the physical time the OP had to be spending searching profiles and compiling sending random messages which, on the face of it, most people seem not to like and in some cases don't even read. But I guess a better use of time than my just posting rubbish in the forum!

I get messages like that but I'm awfully bad at accepting compliments
I generally ignore them as I'm not used to get them truth be told.
I get awkward as fook if someone compliments me 😏 |
