So this weekend I went and broke my left middle finger with a carpenter’s Mallet and it gets me wondering how many of you Fabbers have broken a bone.
So, what was your worst break and how did you do it?
For me the worst was breaking my humeral head in my left shoulder like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange…did it by tripping over a tree root at full run |

Broke my right fourth finger stopping a football shot when in goal age 10.
Broke base of right thumbs in a rugby scrum age 20
Fortunately I don't think a did any random breaks aged 30 and 40, still a few months of being 50 to go though! |

Broken both arms lots of times in childhood. Broke a big toe when I got run over, broke a collarbone falling down icy steps outside. My worst break was an ankle, recovery felt like forever and I had to sleep downstairs on a mattress.

Trimalleolar fracture of my right ankle and severe dislocation.
What saved me was that my talus (the foot socket where the tibia goes in) was completely intact. Some people have to face fusion or amputation if the talar dome is damaged. Considering the force I came down on it, I was super, super lucky and grateful every day that I made a full recovery.
I hope no more broken bones for me today. |

Only ever broke one (touches all the wood in the world that it never happens again), I say broke, more shattered the humerus head of my right arm, took months and months to recover and I still dont have the same range of movement that I do in my left arm even after all these years. |

I was on a walking date with someone I really, really fancied. I tripped on uneven pavement just as my dog raced ahead to lunge at birds. I went crashing down and broke a teeny bony in my wrist. My date had to hold the dog lead while I walked home crying and cradling my poor hand. |

Broken my nose 3 times.
Once when I was 16 and I took on 3 scumbags who broke into a neighbours property.
Then again when I was 17 or 18 and got hit in the face by a door and the third time was a sporting accident when I was 19.
Apart from that I've never broken anything. |

Worst has to have bern my Sternum, while getting tackled by 2 Fiji rugby players in a bad tackle. (Bot their fault, just wrong time wrong place)
My left shoulder is fun, fractured part of the bone and it hasn't healed properly, I can pop my shoulder in and out freely 😂😂
Ankle isnt fun though, sets the alarms of at airports etc, end up getting a full search all the time, even though I carry the documents to prove it. |

Not confirmed but it's highly likely I've broken a metatarsal and a big toe (separate incidents). A&e looked at the tarsal but said can't do anything, GP friend looked at big toe and said it's broken get yourself to a&e to which (based on previous experience) I said pointless as they won't do anything except splint it to which I can do |

That sounds like some extreme BDSM you were into there.
I (Luke) fractured an ankle when I slipped over in icy weather. |

A couple of years ago a massive daddy long legs swooped at me at the top of my stairs and I fell all the way down. Thought I’d got away with it and went to work, realised an hour or so later that I couldn’t get out of my chair and it turned out I’d broken my coccyx. The first and only time I’ve ever broken a bone and my god was it painful for a very long time!!
To add insult to injury it happened on my birthday as well! Xx 😄 |

I’ve been lucky and only broken fingers, the bones that connect the fingers to the wrist, nose and toes. My right hand. The worst was catching my finger in the bar snapper at an old job as it also tore the skin open but sounds more painful than it was |

I broke my thumb playing rugby once and needed plated back together.
I also broke my cock once - I know it’s technically not a bone but it slipped out with her on top and got full weight as she descended - felt a crack and couldn’t get hard for a few weeks - still bends there and you can feel the dent…

Couple of broken ribs, fractured both wrists. All work related..
Just before Christmas I stubbed my right index finger very heavily and I'm pretty sure I've fractured the first joint down to the knuckle. It's been swollen, hot and aching ever since but the nail isn't discoloured so it's at the lower end.. |

Broke my shoulder, broke it again doing the physio from the first break. Now got a metal plate in it.
I broke my right leg in three places, my right knee, thirteen ribs and punctured a lung falling down the stairs
Ended up in a comma for three and half weeks |

I broke my tibia lengthways when I got knocked off my bike, and broke most of the bones in my right foot when I got run over by a 6-tonne forklift truck at work and my steel toecap crushed. That smarted a tad. |

I think I’ve broken most of my fingers on numerous occasions and knuckles
I don’t really count them as breakages as they don’t do anything for them at best you may get a split and a plaster and cracked a few ribs again they don’t do anything for them !
But although I’ve had several quite serious accidents in my life most have been dislocated joints or nasty open wounds or both at same time
The only bone I’ve ever truly broken is the cuboid bone in the ankle
And that only because there’s a screw from a previous plate in it !

Ouch! And ouch!
I broke my ankle....Trimalleolar break, all 3 bones snapped ....nearly lost my foot, had to have it plated and pinned
Went to step up into the minibus after a night out, it was icy and I fell back trapping my foot in between the bus tyre and pavement, heard a loud crack and knew I'd done some damage....
Relocation of the dislocation....twice. The most pain I had ever felt...

Fractured sternum and ribs - motorbike accident
Not just broken but sheared the end of my coccyx off when I fell down the stairs from top to bottom 20 years ago. It still hurts to sit down for long periods of time. Damaged both shoulders and my T8 in the same fall (missed the glass door at the bottom of the stairs)
Always covered in bruises due to the job. 🤷🏼♀️
