A bmw e92 m3, and the rest on rod bearings.
Or a Citroen c6.
Or a Mercedes w212 e63 amg estate.
Or a mk 7 fiesta st and all the bits 17 year old me would have wanted to put on it.
Or a supercharged v8 jaguar xj of a more recent vintage (but not the silly looking new one with the slim headlights).
Or the cheapest best quality Aston Martin Vantage I can afford for 30k, and pray to the unknowable mechanical gods it doesn’t bankrupt me.
Or a Ford B-max and a spare fiesta st engine and transmission and rear axle, so I can transplant all that into a humble b max and surprise all the mobility scooters off the line at traffic lights.
Or the nicest bug eyed Nissan micra that I can find.
The list goes on, really

"If you had 30K to blow on a car what would you buy for fun and enjoyment"
..Looking at current market, I'd buy a Mazda MX-5 ( £24k).
Great fun, petrol, manual, soft top sports car.... built forever, won't be around much longer, so possibly an investment... (get it undersealed and look after it) 🤗 |

"I assume you mean used. Have you seen the prices of decent new ones "
I mean considering cars are mostly a depreciating asset and they lose roughly 50% of their value in first 3 years. I don't see why anyone sane would but a brand new car |

Tesla Model X.
Why have a 2 seater when you can have 7.
Can tow a sailboat
Host an orgy
Fast as fuck (the P editions)
Handy for carrying lots of people
Those doors are bonkers
Drives itself when you can't be arsed. |

"1982 Pontiac Trans Am "
..lovely car, but parts & repair's would blow you out the water..
..good luck finding someone willing/able to repair in UK...
sorry, if you can, or have a mechanic then great, but that will be otherwise difficult, depending on where you are
and this will be the problem moving forward..(once we have electric only technicians)..
Main dealers will be electric,
so even servicing a car might mean taking a day off to sort out, as nearest dealer/service is sparse..
(sorry that sounds neg, but truelly from driving almost 40 years, I completely feel we're being pushed away from care to public transport. |

I would really like a Noble M12 GTO. Ive always liked the look of them unfortunately not finding one for 30k so I would have a porsche 911. There 1 or 2 996 turbos in budget im going to say thats pretty fun. |

Simple.... dont trust me with £30k for a car for fun because the following list occurs
1x 2 door smart car as cheap as possible
1x minimum 1000cc motorbike (engine needs to work thats all
1x engine parts kit
4x wider rims and tyres
2x racing bucket seats and harnesses
1x full roll cage
1x full set plexi glass
1x 200kg dead weight for back end
Im building another go kart and painting it like a little tikes car 😂 |

"I’d like a Herbie VW beetle.
Or Charlie Crokers silver Aston Martin from the Italian Job, but that probably wouldn’t be acdd as liable for 30k"
From memory, that was a DB4. Times that 30 by 10 to get one of them Im afraid. |

As a play car, a Rover P6, V8.
I'd want it modernised whilst keeping the original look, as I quite enjoy how modern cars start in the wet and stop when you press the brakes.
As a day to day car, just a small and environmentally friendly Toyota would do
