I view that as a useful filter tbh. If someone's going to be rude at that stage, I definitely made the right decision.

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I leave them unread for a few days and then delete. Other times I'll delete immediately just from reading the 'preview'. Often those immediate deletes are followed by a succession of similarly deleted messages without being read and then by blocking the insistent profile.

As soon as I've read it. If they message again like it never happened, I block but if they message again with a shitty follow-up I think to myself "lucky escape" and then block.

Our profile says what we want, it's made really clear. Some people are lazy and don't read it, others try their luck. God might love a trier, but I don't. 🤣

reply with why it's useless, no profile blurb and no pics and I'm looking for more than a pulse in someone and then I say blocking you is nothing personal, but it just prevents further wasted time for both of us.

This way at least they learn something and I don't get the inevitable hero to zero insult that follows saying no
