Part 1 filled up, thank you everyone for your recommendations. And I've listened to every one from part 1, which was hard work but rewarding, some great stuff in there, plus some stuff that's just not my kind of thing.
I really liked Angine de Poitrine, was already a Beach House fan (and Myth is my favourite of theirs), and I also really liked the Jezabels.
I'm not going to listen to all the further recommendations as it was hard work but since part 1 filled up, people can go again if they want to, and I'll probably dip into some of them.
And my recommendation this time is 'Sugar for the Pill' by Slowdive |

" Try this JJ Gray and Mofro..
loch loosa ... the live version
May or may not be your thing .
Not the sort of thing I'd generally listen to but really liked it. A great voice. "
The first part up to the guitar solo ... is the part that talks loudest... the guitar bit just seems a little to much contrast... but I guess it was live so he will of been in a certain groove with that bit... |

"I haven't read part 1 so no idea if these have already been mentioned...
King Woman - Morningstar
Emma Ruth Rundle - Protection
Chelsea Wolfe - Vex
Darkher - Where the Devil Waits
"
I really liked Emma Ruth Rundle and could easily listen to the others again |

"Not sure if these class as obscure:
The Shins - Australia
Little Man Tate - Sexy in Latin
One minute Silence - Fish Out of Water
Rival Schools - Used for Glue"
I already really like The Shins and Rival Schools (saw them years ago on the back of hearing this song) so I was a little surprised that I didn't really like the other two. |

"Ac/Dc fans check out Soul Stripper from their first (Australian only) High Voltage album. There is some great guitar interplay during the solo between Mal and Angus."
I'd say that's as good as anything I've heard by ac/dc |

"[Removed by poster at 30/03/26 14:42:03]"
Whoops. Typo. I’ll repost.
.
Raid - Doom Regulator
This is the guys who used to be in Op Ivy, Dance Hall Crashers, and Rancid. DR is their new band, RAID is the first single, and it’s a nice traditional ska tune. |

"Not sure how obscure they are but most people haven’t heard of them and they’re among my favourites
Cool About It - boygenius
Billie Jean - The Civil Wars
Paraphernalia- Temples"
I'd heard of them but only actually heard Temples before, which I like. I like the others too now I've heard them |

"Beating Hearts Baby - Head Automatica
Diamonds and Guns - The transplants
All mapped out - the departure
Two more years - bloc party
"
I hadn't heard Head Automatica before, wasn't overly keen. Of the others I love Bloc Party and really like that Departure song. |

"Strings of life- Williams fairey brass band
Moodswings- LTJ Bukem
When she smiles she lights the sky (4 hero mix) - plantlife
Dusk- Marcus Intallex
"
Hadn't heard any of these before. All very pleasant on the ear, favourite was Marcus Intallex |

Mrs Magoo - Witchita
As far as I know it’s the only song they ever released (not counting the B-side). And it was bloomin’ brilliant. Proper big band rhythm and blues that puts a massive smile on your face. Sort of a northern soul Blues Brothers vibe. |

What a generous idea of yours. In Shoegaze, Slowdive reign supreme, but some others I like:
DIIV - Blankenship (among many)
BDRMM - Happy (volume up)
Autolux - Turnstile Blues (not sure if it's Shoegaze) |

Walking on Cars - Don't Mind Me. That track has special meaning to me

Feeder- insomnia
It's only the Incubus one I've not heard, not that keen tbh. Like the other 3 though. "

Also. Not ACDC. But maybe have a listen to the bans Rhino Bucket.. their first album is ace!! And the younger "Young" brother was in the support band when Rhino Bucket first visited the UK. |

Easy now by Hot Tuna on the album The Phosphorescent Rat.
If anyone still flies their hippy freak flag high.
Jefferson Airplane emigrées.
Me and me bro loved listening to this’s on a sunny seventies summer’s day. 😊 |

Its good for that hippyish 70s rock vibe, not really my thing though |

Witch Post - Witching Hour.
Slowdive fans might love like this Slowdive fan dos 🥰
Off to see them in Leeds in May for under fifteen bloody quid and it feels like a steal for how good their stuff on record so far is 😄 |

"Hamish Imlach - Cod Liver oil and the Orange Juice
I like it, could imagine him sitting on a chair in the corner of a pub performing this "
Yes literally.. one of those tiny rural pubs where you randomly end up having an amazing evening. It was about as obscure as I could think of |

Boy Harsher - Motion
TV On The Radio - Staring at the Sun or Wolf Like Me
"
I hadn't heard that NIN song before, it was OK, not one of my favourites by them. Never heard of Boy Harsher before but it was good. I really like TV on the Radio already and know both those songs very well. |

"Lemon Pound Cake - Afroman
I remember Because I Got High. Not as keen on this one though. "
The story around it is more interesting. The police raided his house after receiving a tip from an informant. They didn't find anything. The behaviour of the police was caught on CCTV so Afroman made a series of songs to get revenge. |

Perfect piece of revenge and redress. Not to mention hilarious, " Afroman'll do ya, Afroman'll screw ya!" |
