Huw Edwards drama

Found myself watching Power, the downfall of Huw Edwards lastnignt.

I'm not sure what rock I've been living under but I wasn't really aware what had been going on.

Amazes me how these people manage to get away with such fucked up crimes.

Martin Clunes felt really freaky in how me acted the part, felt quite scary at times.

Loads get away with it.

People still like scum like michael jackson, bowie, john peel, red hot chilli peppers among other nonces.

I used to have arguements with a seemingly very intelligent girl who said bowie wasnt a nonce as the 13 year old was up for it.

People dont want to beliwve their heros are scum.

Whacko jackos fans are probably the worst for it.

What you have to remember is innocent till proven guilty. Clearly now its fact he is guilty, the sentence far too lenient.

Sounds like Martin Clunes did a great job. If he didn't make you feel uncomfortable - he wasn't giving a convincing performance...

I wasn't aware of this programme before, but I think I'll watch it & see for myself

Bedfuck

It all boils down to evidence. There are creepy people everywhere it's if something or someone jumps up and proves it be the case.

In Huws' case being a celebrity just magnifies things 100x then being a BBC news anchor man who reports on royalty just put things on whole new mountain of controversy and hell.

It's power, celebrity, money and shere arrogance that gets people like Huw into the shit storm.

The BBC are partly responsible for not picking up on him sooner. Agian there were previous incidents and like Saville poo pooed. Victims hitting a Brickhill.

Authority covering up.

Also BBC presenters tend to get celebrity status. It's a job not like a singer or an actor, it's a job. So why do they get treated like prima donna's.

Holly Willoughby looks good but totally talentless, fronts programmes but that's about it. Next thing she's a stalking victim and she's like Maria Carey.

BBC and others should stop giving them the power and finances to get up involved in all the crap.

Scot Mills .....who, he's another one.

This will propell him into BBC notoriety

gives him some bad boy points in some people's books. He'll end up in indie heaven earning shitloads.

Really. Just throw them in the bin never to return.

"Haha why on Earth would any actor choose to play a nonce? "

So all actor's should choose role's where the characters are fluffy and clean cut?

It's called ACTING, you all really need to learn how acting works.

I'm assuming that you all think that any actor's who convincingly plays a serial killer they are in fact serial killers themselves??

These dramatisation are important to educate and inform, if you feel uncomfortable watching it then it's done what it's supposed to do.

I haven't watched it yet but will at some point it's not high on my watch list.

The absolute crass mentality shown by some posters continues to amaze me ...... I think i'm over idiocy and then , I find i'm not.

Ha Ha Who chooses to play a rapist?

Ha Ha who chooses to play a serial killer?

Ha Ha who chooses to play a despotic leader?

Ha Ha who chooses to play a domestic abuser ?

Ha Ha ........ ffs.

I'm amongst the , 'Wait until you know something' brigade.

Before the brainless enter the thread and start calling him a nonce or whatever name they think makes them better than him ....... All we know at the moment is that someone who was a teenager ten years ago has made allegations. The allegations were investigated at the time and the case was dropped.

Ten years later , he has made them again. We now know Scott Mills has been sacked , so all we can do now is wonder ' was a crime committed or not?'

And if the accuser turns out to be seventeen then the word 'nonce' shouldn't be used.

Maybe the accuser works for the BBC and the BBC must be seen to take action; protect employees.

Time and more information will tell.

I've only seen the trailer. It shows enough to see Clunes is a fantastic actor. And enough to know I'll not watch the rest.

The BBC I expect tightened their policies each time things have happened. I've not seen any details on it. There may or may not have been criminal behaviour with the Mills situation, but risk of reputational damage would be enough to get anyone the sack from BBC these days. It's likely zero tolerance going forward.

It should be used as one of those work place films to show employees of a company how not to conduct themselves.

Sadly a bit too late for the BBC the damage is done.

They'll probably be close down by the end of 2026.
