Face pictures first... Is it a rule

Why is it that women will only talk if you send a face pic 1st but they have nothing on their profile to suggest what they look like... Why is it a rule and why do women get that power.
I know women get 1000s messages per few hours on here men get 1 or 2 every other day. |

Women only get the “power” because some blokes are willing to send messages to people that they don’t know what they look like.
If people start to have a bit of respect for themselves and only mail people they _actually_ like the look of then the “power” disappears. |

Why can’t members understand the difference between a photo shared privately and having one on a public gallery?
Why don’t members understand that even if someone asks for something, they don’t have to comply. It’s not compulsory. Just scroll on to the next profile.

Now don't confuse this with men allow women to have the power, but men certainly play in to it. Due to the numbers game, supply and demand etc men (not all) are simply trying to compete with the rest to be noticed by doing the same thing. It's just a rat race, and even by playing to the "law" chances are high you won't even see any increase in chances or benefit from doing so.
You don't have to play the gen pop game, it's not a rule or law, just the way the game positions itself to be played to which people keep it on that track.

Its your choice to message them first, if you don't agree with their terms.....move on.
Lots of female profiles are more confidential, but if they feel you're a match they will share pics in return.
Profiles that say they wont share pics until they feel comfortable I will ignore. There's no point chatting to someone you aren't attracted to. |

They can ask for a face pic op , but nobody has to send a face pic if they don't want to.
Many women get lots of messages. So they want to see if there's attraction early on & not waste time chatting for ages to find they don't fancy someone.
It's just an easy filter, if you're not happy to send them a pic, just don't message, easy.
I don't ask for pics first message, but I use many filters to keep my mail low anyway. |

No one has more power than anyone else on here.
We wouldn’t chat for long without seeing face pics but are happy to share ours. Sometimes we’ve sent them first and sometimes received them first.
If the person sending the face pic first isn’t to the taste of the receiver then there’s no requirement to send pics back.

I say this as someone who's never asked for a face picture first.
You're upset about being asked to send a face picture *privately* (sending a picture to one person) because the woman has no *public* pictures of her face (revealing a picture to potentially thousands of people)? Are you serious?
Also, as others have said, you don't have to do it. Tesco could charge £1000 for an apple. I'm not obliged to give them £1000. I just don't get an apple. If you think it's unreasonable, go elsewhere. |

We always send face pics in the first message on both our couples and solo profiles.
We see it as another way of enticing someone. If our bio doesn’t quite tick someones boxes, maybe the picture will help.
If its still a no. Atleast we can say we tried.
What we hate, is someone sending us the initial message, with no pics attached asking for ours. Thats just a red flag and gets you blocked. |

Women do hold the power on here and, due to numbers, they can ask almost anything and there would be plenty of men who'd happily give those women what they want for the possibility of a meet. If you don't like it, OP, then don't do it. And not every single woman expects a face pic in the first message. What most women expect though is men (and couples) to read our profiles and respect them. |

I generally introduce us with a face picture if messaging a profile I’m interested in. It’s always nice to get one in return or at least see someone relatively early on just to gauge attraction. But it’s not a sticking point for us to chat. L xx |

Lots of single men here.
Nowhere near as many women.
Women hold the power in swingers sites so they can look like the back end of a bus here and men are still desperate for it.
They get tonnes of messages and cannot keep up with them all.

Well said, I don’t have face pics public but I will send on private if I trust the profile requesting, if I don’t trust them I’d request a video call in some way which if they are interested shouldn’t be a problem. I’d never send anything to unverified accounts or those unwilling to share too.  |

Asking for a face pic is just a personal choice, the same as with age limit, the gender/genders of the people they are seeking and so on . It also prevents a lot of invested time chatting if they can see if there is any attraction from the beginning. I don't see it as one gender holding power over another as men also set criteria about who they wish to meet. |

If I chat with a lady with no profile pic, they ain't getting a face pic quickly. Face pics are for lead to a meet for me, not general chat. And ideally no pic needs to share something to get a face pic. Show me some encouragement |

Nothing worse than getting messages from single men saying I’m stunning or beautiful yet they haven’t seen my face, yes I appreciate my body is on show but I could have a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp and I’m sure the beautiful/stunning comments would be very quickly retracted. Face pic swapping is a must but it shouldn’t have to be a certain order. Neither men or women should or need to send first, it should just happen as the conversation is getting somewhere so not to waste each others time. |

Are these women initiating the engagement or are you doing it? If so, maybe go for profiles where you have an idea of what they might look like.
I get your frustration, but it probably comes down to different comfort levels. A lot of women prefer to see who they’re talking to first, especially with the number of messages they get.
Tone matters too, your profile might be coming across a bit stronger than you intend…. Or not |
