There have been a few threads about "beauty" lately.

I know its different to everyone.

What does it mean to you? What do you class as beautiful?

Is it purely aesthetics? Or is it incorporated with personality and the way someone carries themself?

Do you believe if you find someone aesthetically beautiful that if there personality is non existent/or distasteful does this overule the aesthetics and make them less?

Or are they still beautiful but just not a nice person?

"I prefer a ‘normal’ look not Hollywood cum Essex look. "

Do you think it is solely around your aesthetic preference or are other elements incorporated in it?

I think lots of people are beautiful to look at. Most people are decent whatever their outside packaging.

I really dislike the idea that you can infer a person's personality from how they look

Beauty for me is look and movement and smile. So someone that catches your eye across a room and there is something that makes you stare. Often triggered by a walk or arm gesture also, not just a pic.

Girl next door look is my preference.

Personality has a big part in it as well.

Personality goes a long way, sometimes the most beautiful person in the outside can still be a disgusting piece of shit due to attitude

It is also true that people who aren't beautiful can be a disgusting piece of shit

True but it's often used as a stick to beat really gorgeous people with and like a sort of compensation prize for people who aren't.

Its a tough one to answer. But for me, there has to be balance. Im looking for inner beauty as outer beauty.

Dont get me wrong, it can comfortably say stuff like youve got beautiful eyes or smile, but to go futher, I need that person to be beautiful inside, where that being humour, friendly, compassion etc.

If I dont get the balance, I dont get the attraction unfortunately.

No, attraction is futher, someone can be beautiful in and out but i still dont get an attraction. Ive got to have the balance of beauty in and out to build to an attraction.

For example, theres a little old lady who runs the paper shop in the village, constantly dressed respectably, tidy, hair always looks great, infectious little smile and inside such a beautiful person, will help anyone and never complains. I tell her shes a bonnie lass all the time, she tells me flirting wont get a discount 😂 but im not attracted to her, shes just a beautiful person ive gotten to know.

Looks wise I’d say Gemma Arterton is what beauty looks like to me. Beautiful naturally, beautiful glammed up. Just effortlessly gorgeous.

Also Eva Green and Lily James. You just know they could roll out of bed with tonsillitis and birds nest hair and folk would still look at them like 😍

And yes, someone can still be beautiful if they are an arsehole, it just shows that their beauty is skin deep.

A nice rock

It can be both, I can think someone is a beautiful human because of their whole package.

But usually if I call someone beautiful its purely from an aesthetic pov

Beautiful people can be fun to be intimate with as their aesthetic and sensuality is pleasurable to experience and look at. But the reality for me is the chemistry, if that doesn't exist it is just a fuck like any other no matter what is visibly pleasing to the eye. Mx 👿

Beauty to me is the way someone is unapologetically theirselves. They are confident in their own skin and own who they are. The energy in the way they carry theirselves is evident no matter what they look like.

it's the inner beauty TT...

mixed with those sometimes overlooked small aesthetically visual things,

example , I think women can have a squiggy feeling over a mum tum.

but aesthetics wise a lot of men find it part of a womans attractiveness, and that's probably a primal thing I realise that.

it's a lot of things rolled up into that I really fancy you feeling .. we all get

Personally, I would say beauty is about one's looks. Attraction is about one's looks and personality. You can see someone and think they are beautiful, without having had any interaction with them. It's only once you've engaged with them, that you get to know their personality and whether that makes them attractive to you.

Obviously some people have the full packet and are stunning, but I find beauty in many things like eyes, smile and there style of them

Most of all is if there is a connection which will always lead to the better sex

Why do so many people tell women on fab they're beautiful without seeing their face or actually meeting them if it's about more than looks?

People can be beautiful to look at but an absolute twunt.

People can be beautiful in a kind, compassionate just a beautiful person sense.

The best kind is when both come together.

Physical beauty: face and body.

Non-physical beauty: character, personality, morals, confidence, sense of humour, wit, humility, humbleness, modesty, integrity, accountability, emotional intelligence, understanding, and so much more.

Physical attraction might get attention, character keeps the attention.

Some people are pretty to look at and have no personality. Some are not so good looking and have an incredible personality. Their personality makes them more attractive. Some people have both. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

That was never the intended meaning of my post, in real life I’ve found the opposite some of the most horrible attitude people were far from beautiful

I’m more attracted to a natural look tbh than the fake look. but if they don’t have a personality that’s more off putting for me.

I don’t think beauty has anything to do with personality, attraction is a different story.

If Margot Robbie was an awful human being, she would still be a beautiful woman.

I am attracted to some women who most would say are plain looking, but because they are kind and decent human beings, I feel attracted to them.

Beauty is the way I perceive someone, and only superficially is this their body or face.

I've been around people not my normal type before, but when you start to really lean into and appreciate their personality and intelligence, then their physical appearance has started to become my type.

If they are not a nice person, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

A person who is ugly on the outside can still be very beautiful.

A person who is ugly and warped on the inside ( in their heart ) can never be beautiful

I think someone can be beautiful on the outside, but ugly on the inside - for me it’s more than what someone looks like that makes them beautiful, it can be how they treat others, their sense of humour, maybe they have cute mannerisms. I can genuinely be attracted to women for multiple different reasons and they aren’t always physical.

A few years ago I think I genuinely fell in love with someone on the radio because of their voice (it wasn’t a caller, someone that worked on a show regularly). After thinking shit this woman is the love of my life I googled her and she is still beautiful but not what I’d imagined
