Evening beauties
So are you one that takes compliments well? Believe the ‘hype’ ??
Or do you just politely accept but actually don’t see /believe the same as the complimenter ?? Struggle to take a compliment ?

Compliments here mean nothing imo. If I'm complimented about my work I'm delighted and know I've earned it. I'm an expert at twisting compliments to mean something totally different to what they really mean.

I feel it’s also important to accept a Genuine compliment. If someone gives you a gift (which includes a compliment) you wouldn’t be rude and just belittle it would you? |

I neither like receiving them nor giving them. I say what I mean and mean what I say. The Dutch term is called bespreekbaarheid (speakability). I also like the Swedish style, who don't engage in small talk or "banter". |

Hopefully not. I did ask a colleague to stop once because I was getting embarrassed. I don't doubt her compliments were genuine but she was very vocal and fulsome in her praise. |
