Would you walk/ travel 500 miles to meet someone?

No chance, unless I knew them had met previously on a holiday etc so they were a somewhat known quantity etc. but even then I’d only be meeting with them by incorporating it into something I wanted to do, like a few days holiday on the south coast etc.
To much jeopardy to travel that far solely trusting the meet would happen |

No I wouldn't.
It takes me 5 hours to drive half of that to see my daughter ( with a wee half way )
I wouldn't be driving 10 hours and if the poor sod drove 10 hours here I'd feel obliged to make it worth their drive . e.g. victoria sponge and tea on demand |

Not so n relation to the OP question. But, I’ve done some 100km organised walks that have been continuous some in the lakes and some around wales and really enjoyed them. Definitely look into doing one |

I walk around 4mph so it would take me over 5days just to get there. I only have 6days annual leave left so it isn't a viable option, this year anyways.

Average walking speed = 4mph
500 divided by 4 = 125 hours at that speed for 24 hours and no sleep!
OR 10 miles per day..... = 500 divided by 10 = 50 days,
So YES..... i'll set off now. See you at the start of August.

Definitely used to find more people on the forums that wanted to meet than through regular messaging, back when I had more time to go to socials etc, for sure...I've ben over to the east of the country from Hampshire, back when I was living there. |
