I'm in the market for some new high fashion footwear, I would call them trainers, you might know them as runners or sneakers.

And I'm looking for some inspiration, I'm very interested in what everyone else wears and likes.

I'm not particularly brand loyal, my current favourites are some blue Adidas Campuses, and my all time favourites that I've ever had are a pair of black Vans Old Skools.

So what are your favourites either current or all time?

Adidas Retro are a favourite of mine. So many styles and colours to choose from and go well with either jeans, chinos or shorts.

The last couple of pairs I've had have been Adidas Originals Ozweegos.

They are super super comfy, they're not my usual style but I mostly wear them for going on walks or running errands. I might wear them with a dress now and again, but they are some of the comfiest trainers I've ever worn.

Yeah, Adidas originals for me, especially the Trimm Trab in the 'Argentina blue' colour with the vanilla sole.

I don't care about brands. I look for ones that are comfortable to wear, nothing flashy, no ridiculous logo or no logo at all, and under £50. I mainly get black but sometimes I opt for red or blue.

My current favourite are Karrimor Duma 600. Light, comfy and good for walking.

This may sound a bit sad but i have only worn Addidas Gazelles for thw past 35 years. I currently have 15 pairs, the oldest being green ones that are covered in paint!

I've had every colour made but they have to be originals with the white sole. Even when they were nigh on impossible to obtain and when they cost £25 a pair because nobody wore or wanted them.

Great to see that Campus have made a comeback and are available in pretty much any colour combo known to man but i'll always be a Gazelles wearer.

Not much nice stuff about these days. Tends to be shite reissues of old stuff.

Though as others have said gazelles are ok.

Dublin and stockholm are better but hard to get.

New Balance 574s for me. I've got an old pair in oranges and greens which I love.

I've got a pair of Nike Free Flyknits (which I also love) that I mainly wear to/from the gym, but will occasionally wear with jeans - definitely not high fashion though!

I think trainers are a minefield for us older gents! 🤣

I do like a pair of Vans for day to day use, but I prefer a smart casual trainer that doesn't have a logo plastered over it. ETQ have some nice trainers

Does that logic extend to other items of clothing? Do you only have one of everything?

Go to are adidas samba or spezial I must have 20 pairs but I like to keep them clean so don’t wear them for everyday. My everyday trainers are asics as I find these great if you’re walking or on your feet all day. I’m not a fan of Nike. I’ve got vans but don’t wear them that often.

I am a big fan of Adidas and all the bright colours.

I don’t think you can go wrong with Adidas. I like the retro look of them too.

The only other trainers I wear are Sketchers because it is like walking on pillows, but they don’t really have a trendy version - they just are what they are.

Good luck in your search 🫡

I've always been an Adidas fan boy ('80s Casual thing) but I try to dress without logos these days and I gave them up a while ago. Occasionally, but getting it's getting rarer, a limited edition which piques my interest will drop on Confirmed or elsewhere and I'll be drawn in but the last pair I bought, I sold on eBay straightaway for about 90 quid more than I paid for them.

Most styles of Adidas trainers i love. A classic pair of white sambas are the best though.

Converse and Vans are my other choices.

I seem to be collecting Adidas at the moment. Although I have recently purchased a new pair of converse and I still love my New Balance 327. Different styles go with different outfits so I need variety
