I cannot think of anything more disgusting than having an animal in a bed. Dirty dust mites all crawling over you.

If I ever got myself a dog it would never be allowed upstairs.

You seem very bitter about a lot of things OP. Dogs are very perceptive when it comes to their owner's mood so I wouldn't worry too much about one getting on your bed, I doubt they'd want to.

Literally 2 of your posts this morning (that I've seen) virtually start with the word "disgusting". I've read another couple of posts and you're peeved at somebody or other.

You're obviously not a happy person, maybe try posting something nice instead of negative. I get it that some people are on here because they can't get what they want in life but that's no reason to be so down on everyone.

That is all, I'll not get into an argument with you.

OP, erm just wondering, isn't anal possibly dirtier, more disgusting then having a dog sleep on a bed?

Not making any moral judgement, just highlighting one thing you presumably partake in (cant view your profile as blocked you after a previous posting) that may be more disgusting cleanliness wise.

One of D's favourite sayings is "The more I get to know people, the more I love my dog!"

I was never a dog person, but Baxter has more than won me over!

OP, there's here's a couple more expressions..

"Don't yuk other people's yum" and "Extinguish another's candle, doesn't make yours burn brighter"

Note I can't see your profile, so I guess some other rage baiting or sanctimonious thread or comment inspired D and he beat me to the punch..

Have a fantastic day and we're off to walk our furry family member (not D 🤭)

My poor doggy passed away 2 years ago, she was 16 and I had her for 13 years.

The very first night we got her she jumped on the bed and went under the covers and laid between us. Was very funny as we didn't expect it.

After that she slept on top of the covers and did so all her life.

OP not wishing to give you nightmares but regardless of having an additional member to your family such as a dog, cat or any other animal for that matter, even the cleanest of beds will have dust mites.

Reason being, dust mites feed primarily on the dead skin cells we humans naturally shed, they are virtually impossible to eliminate entirely, even in the most immaculate of beds. A single mattress can harbor anywhere from 100,000 to 10 million of them.

All we can do, is manage their numbers to keep our bed genuinely hygienic and prevent allergy flare-ups by using barrier encasements, high-temperature washing, reduce humidity (dehumidifier) and vacuum regularly.

Don't take my word for it, do your research and you'll be alarmingly surprised. Also, there's the option for you to buy home allergen testing kit, low-powered microscopes, UV flashlights and hygrometers to monitor breeding conditions.

Never ever blame a dog OP because I kid you not they have nothing but devotional (unconditional) love for someone who cares for them. Much more respect is needed for animals, which we humans don't always necessarily care to give. We can learn a lot from them in all honesty.

I'm sorry OP, but this you have to admit is soooo funny. Young lady has made a very valid point.

Cannot help but laugh.

I don't have my dogs in my bed but they are allowed on the sofa.

I usually have blankets covering the sofa so I can wash them frequently.

My dogs are clingy and if they slept in my bed I'd never be comfortable or get any sleep.

I don't know about dogs but cats are cleaner than most humans I've seen! They don't want to come and sit with me at this time of year, and one rarely comes in the bed, but I love it if it happens. If you have a cat or dog there will always be fur about. If that isn't for you don't have an animal that's sheds a lot of hair.

It's you not the dog that encourages dust mites, they are there anyway.

My dog isn't allowed on the beds. Not because I find him disgusting but because he sheds all year round and is the size of a Shetland pony.

He has a huge bed of his own downstairs with blankets he can bury himself under when it's cooler at night.

He's happy and I'm happy not having to eat dog hair all night.

If I had a pet they wouldn't be allowed on my bed. It's bad enough when I was in a relationship and my ex would shed hair. I'd wake up covered in what felt like a spider's web. Add a pet to that and it's more hair. No thank you. I'd get my pet a comfy bed though.

My cats have their own beds... But that absolutely doesn't seem to matter to them. They own this house I just live here and pay the bills

Op has got what he wanted.

Everyone looking at his profile.

I remember when we started seeing each other first we were in bed playing and I thought she had turned on a toy but it actually was her kitten who was after climbing in between us and was purring away.

Very strange sensation on my testicles.🤪

I mean most people change bedding for meets anyway. Let’s be honest

When I used to do meets at my home I used to take all the bedding off anyway and just had a ground sheet and two pillows for fab meets. Which immediately once k got rid of the meet got slung in a wash cycle and room aerated for hours and my primary bedding put back on

I don’t think I have ever met anyone that didn’t do some variant of this tbh

My dogs sleep in their beds in the kitchen

When they wake in the morning anytime from 5 they let me know and I bring them up to my bed

They jump up onto the bed and we all go back asleep

They're both non shed rescues and I have a throw over my duvet that gets washed once a week

I love having them on my bed ...think you need to own an animal to know the love they can give you

Then you should never own a dog, or any pet come to that.

In the world around us we are generally the thing carrying the most bacteria. There are more germs in your shoe than your toilet.

The only issue with a dog getting on the bed for me is that it needs to know its place. Some dogs will dominate the spaces they shouldn't, if the owner enables it.

There's a supporter at Birmingham games who's allowed to take his dog to help with his anxiety in crowds.

Yes, it was an ironic choice of words given some of the things posted on here.

Don’t think there is anything wrong with the OPs views tbh.

We’ve had dogs & none of them were allowed upstairs & also downstairs has always been tiled in the two houses that we homed dogs in. Dogs & carpets, never mind beds don’t mix very well.
