People are allowed to like what they like.
People are allowed to react how they want, but people are still allowed to like what they like.
Sometimes it's not diplomatic to be blunt about what you like, even if you still won't meet someone who isn't what you like.
Women get a lot more leeway here for a variety of reasons, some reasonable, some not. |

People have their preferences, but I always wonder where those preferences come from. Was it something that attracted us about someone, in our formative years? Someone who we really looked up to or admired, had those physical attributes. |

Men (and women!) can and do say no large women. But too often it is said unkindly, which is why they get shit for it.
I think so long as people express their preferences in a polite manner then it should be taken on the chin.

I wonder, as a matter of profile writing technique, whether it's better to say "no x", or better to just reject all x.
It's probably less hurtful, if someone takes it personally, to be unaware that possessing x means this person will never say yes to you. But it's also a waste of time for both sender and recipient. |

As a black man myself, I tend to avoid the “BBC” centric profiles because they’re simply just reducing me down to object & usually only see use for me fill a role for a fantasy they’re looking for as opposed to seeing me as a person.

I agree. I have no issues with women writing something that resembles "...only looking to play with caucasian men". It's tame enough.
However I find it off-putting when they write something like "NOT interested in ASIAN men!!!". It just comes across as a form of vehement hatred and contempt.
Just write what you prefer as opposed to what you detest. |

I am allowed to have my preference (yes, I am heightist), and others on here are allowed to have theirs. I'm not a skinny lady, and I don't mind if someone decides they're not interested in me because of my size, as long as they're not twats about it. Plus, I can do something about my size, but people can't change their height (unless you have a lot of money and want to put yourself through a lot of painful procedures, that might not even be successful). |

I've never understood why people take it to heart when they don't fit what the other person is looking for, attraction is subjective.

Everyone has the right to not meet a person (or multiple people, or a group of people) that looks in a specific way (that they simply don't find attractive) . Women are more straightforward with this on fab, as they have more options...men (a large number) on fab are more hesitant in that regard, as they don't want to miss out on a potential meet, even if that woman might not be his first choice - these men would absolutely have sex with a woman they don't find attractive (which is just pathetic in my eyes). Many men will drop their standards and bend their preferences on fab...however there are absolutely women on fab that say they wouldn't meet a man under 6' but still slide into my DM's with the pretext of " I might make an exception for you" - pisses me right off 😡 |

I think it's all about being respectful. If a woman says she prefers tall guys then fair enough. If a guy says they prefer slim girls fair enough. Preference is fine but being a dick about it isn't like name calling. It goes for the same with pushy guys who say " I'm an alpha bull " yet they are 60 odd pot belly and have a little dick.
