Someone keeps parking outside mine, then walking about 6 houses up to go in. AND... there's a space outside for them to park there. Now I'M parked about 6 houses up. Am I being silly fuming about it or should I just chill? This happens at least half the week x 🤬 |

As many households now have a minimum of 2 cars, pavement parking is at a premium on a street of terraced, no driveway, houses.
I moved house at the begining of the year and now park in a road off my road as there is rarely parking outside my home.
I probably piss the people off who own the house i park outside but what can you do.
I try not to let things I have no control over stress me.

No, it's not unreasonable to want to park outside your front door or back for that matter. |

Had the exact same problem as the op for close on 4 or 5 years, around 2016. (I gave up and left. The same week as my neighbour from hell did.)
I don't know of anything legal that you can do to resolve the issue. Plenty of illegal ideas though |

"I have loads of ideas that I shall keep as a fanciful daydream. There's bigger issues to worry about i suppose. It's just mildly annoying x "
It is a mild irritation when it is not obvious why they do it when there is no need. When the kids were young and we had to get them out of the car plus all their paraphernalia, it used to really bug me (now I have a drive - but the kids park in it, grrr).
Tik Tok has some clips of bust ups over parking - though possibly taking it to further extremes by parking in the neighbours driveway (one even parked their cos she could use their electric charger). |

Our road was closed due to road works recently and for two days I parked near the alleyway to our back gate and got left a mumsnet style
“PARK INFRONT OF UR OWN HOUSE” ticket. All it did was make me want to park there even longer. Pettiness goes both ways so be careful 🤣 |

My father had a neighbour parking on his land and pursued a remedy through the courts
£60,000 down and a legal agreement later in which my father gave up the right to park on certain parts of his own land to allow her “totally free “ access to park in her own land ( which she had anyway! )
And she still parks on my father's land !
My father is 90 years old and has moved out of his house because he cannot stand the stress !
Unbelievable!
I would not be prepared to write publicly what I would have done four years ago if I knew then what I know now ! |

It’s annoying, but the road is a public highway and anyone can park there.
Don’t fret about it. |

I thought people were more friendly up north? Or is that just the bullshit you tell us southerners? 😂 |

I feel your pain, my neighbour has a drive but doesn't use it. Parks his car outside my house. I park a street away because the street is full.
I'm not even sure the guy needs a car, he'a 60 years old and lives at home with his Mother and neither have worked a day in their lives.
But I know there is nothing I can do so I just carry on my day |

It is bizarre though how some people think they own the road outside their house. Especially pensioners, I went to a retirement area. When I was married previously, I went to the in laws for a weekend and parked out car a couple of doors down where there was space. After 2 days we came back.
Next thing the guy who lived there tells my father in law that he was about to ring the council and tell them someone had dumped a car outside their house 🤷🏽♂️
Some people have too much time on their hands. |

Well I’ve lived up here 13 years now and I don’t think it’s entirely true 🤣 |

"I think my point is being missed. The road outside their house is empty. Yet they park outside mine. Just wondering why x 🤔🤷♀️"
Maybe they’ve told their partner they’re walking to work and don’t want the driving away to show on the doorbell cam? |

Do they live there or just visiting to shag the person who lives there? Maybe they want to get some extra steps in? It's a little bit healthier walking 6 doors down.
If they are visiting, maybe they want to avoid exposing their car details in case they get caught.
I'm sure we all have stories of neighbours and parking disputes. It's not worth the stress. |

Maybe they have enemies & don’t park outside their own address so their car gets vandalised. Have they got CCTV?

Chill. No one owns the road outside their homes. They have no more right to park there than any other road tax payer.

I get where you are coming from. It isn’t the fact that someone parked in front of your house, just weird how they park 6 houses from their own, when there was space outside their own house (more than once) |

Exactly. At my mums, people would park in front. I'd be completely fine walking a couple minutes because I had to park around the corner. It's still parked and I got a bit more exercise. It is what it is as long as your car is safe and not too far to travel to to get to it, I see no issue |

No arguments there, other than I do question their logic / decency as to why they don't park directly outside their house if they've ample space to do so. Would be the decent thing to do. |

I think I used the wrong word when I said I was fuming. Its a mild irritation. There could be a legitimate reason for it but it got me wondering why, when there's plenty of space by their house is all x |
