How many years without sex?

The longest I went without sex was 2.5 years. After a very painful break up I wanted to take the time to fully come back to myself and once I had an open heart again.. it was easy. No running, no chasing just being open and playful, curious and knowing when connections felt right.
Whilst I'm still able to give and receive pleasure .. I don't plan on any more long gaps. What intimacy looks like might change.
Why do you think so long OP?

Possibly a combination of being a single guy (invisible/reviled) and bad luck. I don't think I'm too repellently ugly and I'm relatively gym fit, but then nobody ever gets as far as seeing me so that's maybe not a factor. I'm also very shy, so there might be that too. |

Have to admit, and this isn't a come-on because I read it and know you're straight but if I were a woman and in the market, I'd definitely go for you for a date at least because of, not despite your incredibly detailed profile. This is a bit of a misery fest though isn't it? Why not spread the net wider than just here? I always wonder what people mean by seeming invisible. Because it's not getting handed to you on a plate?
I am no Adonis, you'd walk right past me on the street without a second look and I'm not in the same slender shape as I was when under 40, but I've managed to have quite a lot of sex with men and women in the last five years.

When social opportunities shrink/disappear and when you're ignored on 'normal' dating sites (tried 'em all), for example, that's when you feel isolated and invisible. |

I guess it depends on your perspective... 😜
For instance, I didn't have sex until I was 24½, mainly due to very few opportunities and having what little confidence I had get destroyed by a girl I fancied who assumed I was ‘the boring, safe option’ (their words, not mine), so by that measurement and from the UK legal age, I could say it was 8½ years without! 😜
However, not counting that ‘gap’, I'd say 1½ years between late 2013 to early(-ish) 2015 after a messy break-up with another lady I was dating at the time 😅 |

I don't actually remember the longest time, but I've had several separate, prolonged stints in the past, during my teens, 20s and my 30s.
I know there were a few times in my teens and 20s it was well over a year. Another time in my 20s I think it was two years, and I have a feeling I maybe went 3 years at one point in my 20s as well, but not sure now.
I was in a relationship for 8 years up to last year that became sexless by the second or third year, so that'll be the longest time, however long that was.
Currently haven't been with anyone since January, but I'm ok with that. I'm taking some space for myself just now. |

In my 30s/40s i went without sex for about 10 years in my first marriage.
At the moment, in my second marriage, i have been without sex for at least 3 years, possibly longer.
I doubt i will ever have sex again.
It makes me feel unwanted, undesirable and very sad. |

I've mainly had longer term partners I've been naughty with.
Had plenty of one off meets hoping to make them long term but many didn't work out or we weren't really a thing.
