No, but as with everything it's contextual and you haven't given enough detail.

Depends who is calling.

But I wouldn't answer it in the company of someone else. I'd excuse myself

Not if you're taking the call quietly, while planning an exit.

There's nothing worse than being in public and listening to someone's phone conversation.

I treat my phone like it's a landline.

If I'm out, I'm out.

I wouldn't say but I forgot most people would go with someone else so I can't really say. Going alone and having a quiet phone call is fine

If I was at the table with company, I personally wouldn’t have my phone in sight or answer unless urgent, which if it was, they would call again.

It depends on the context.

If they're expecting an important call, then fair enough

Tend to have my phone on silent and in my pocket in a restaurant.

If its important I can call them back when I have finished

It's rare that my phone rings. Most of the time I miss it because I didn't realise the ringtone was mine.

"It's rare that my phone rings. Most of the time I miss it because I didn't realise the ringtone was mine. "

I find it rude when people have loud phone conversations for the entire journey on public transport.

Not really, so long as you take it outside. If can't then do the decent thing and put speaker on - nothing worse than hearing only half a convo

Depends who is calling.

I would excuse myself from the table and take the call somewhere quiet, in a restaurant.

All that said i'm one of those odd people that wont speak on a phone on a train, i just say i'll call you back.

And those people who talk on trains via earphones / headsets.... 🤬

I usually answer loudly with something funny like "baby cant talk your husbands in the room" and hang up. People that know me know I'll call them back. Dont care what the finance scam guy thinks.

Back in Surrey, Dahlings!

If it is my children, hell yeah I am answering. If it will take a few minutes I will excuse myself and come back.

Anyone rlse can wait. And if it is an emergency they will keep calling.

If it’s an important call on my always answer list in phone then I’d just get up and head towards bathroom or outdoors to answer / talk

Depends which restaurant and who you are with. If it's a quiet place with people having intimate conversations I'd say a definite yes. Go into the bathroom and call them back if it's important, and have your phone on vibrate.

I am a carer for my mum so always have my phone with me. I would always answer if it rang in case she had another fall or took unwell. I would apologise before answering my phone but expect the person I am with to be understanding of my situation.

My phone very rarely rings so if it’s not a number I recognise then no. If it’s someone I know, then there really must be an issue as my friends know I communicate mostly over text…. Calling me means there’s an emergency and I’ll answer, while excusing myself outside for a moment

Depends on the restaurant, depends on the company

If it’s a proper date. No, the person opposite is my main focus.

Curry with mates, maybe.

But I rarely get phone calls, or go out for meals, so it’s not really an issue for me.

"Answer your phone in a restaurant?"

Yes, if you are loud and if you sit there and talk for a long time.
