Occasionally one explodes out of the shadows into my inbox to say how much they liked a post. Sometimes they'll use the reply in private button on the post. It makes me feel slightly at a disadvantage, as they seem familiar with me but I have no clue who they are.

Zero fucks given. I've never posted for anyone else's benefit but either my own or people in a specific thread.
Anyone can read comments of course. Hence I don't post anything I wouldn't gladly send in a message or say to someone's face.
Messages off the back of forum posts just get deleted unless they're from friends. If you want to respond to something I've posted then do it in the thread. 🤷♂️

Don't have the time or inclination to care.
I do wish they would put replies on the thread rather than pm us as it keeps the thread active but sometimes I have no idea what thread they are commenting on.
Think calling people lurkers is a bit disingenuous.
But, as always, each to their own.

Had a horrible set of private messages from a no picture profile earlier. Kept twisting every thing I said then started insulting me, when I said I don’t want to engage in insults, they blocked me.
Some people are just weird and look for conflict.
Which was a downer because I’ve spoken to a few great people from the forums in the last few weeks.
Hopefully next person to message has something positive to say.
Also, like others have said I’m not sure anyone I have met or local to me posts in here but they can certainly read what I say! Noooo |

I never understood lurkers - like who has that much time to invest in reading junk from the likes of you and me, without even getting praise for their wit or getting told they have nice boobs or thighs? But I’ve spoken to a couple who’ve been absolutely hilarious and I’ve been stunned that they don’t post, because they’d get loads more replies than the regulars.

I know there are lurkers and I'm reminded when one of them gets in touch saying how much they enjoy my posts. I'd like them to get involved a bit more though because of they did, I could raise my own little forum army to tend to my various agendas 😤 |
