How is everyone doing?

I have been doing ok recently but this evening I've started feeling a bit down for no particular reason. Still thanks to counselling (and medication) I know it won't last.

If anyone needs a chat, I'm always available.

I'm sick of life. I am constantly saying "I can't wait for..." wishing my life away. And it's things like I can't wait to not live here anymore to not have this job anymore. But I don't know what I can do to bring about the change and it's stressing me out so I'm tired and miserable all the time

Mine is shocking at present, currently signed off work with stress and anxiety. Sometimes we just need to let things pass, it will pass in time. I have a feeling this episode will require intervention to pass, but thats ok because I know where to get the help to make it easier.

Here if you need to chat, I'm good at giving the right advice but not so good at taking my own advice.

I'm sorry to see that some of you are having a tough time at the moment.

From personal experience I can say that talking really does help. I have learnt a lot from my counselling sessions and several tools to use to examine your feelings about things and hopefully stop the spiral. Happy to share if anyone wants.

In the meantime, have a virtual hug from me. ❤️‍🩹

Don't know if anyone else experiences this but for me, nostalgia comes in 2 forms - positive and negative.

Positive I guess is a known thing but by negative nostalgia - I mean wondering about what-if scenarios in the past. I wouldn't call them regrets because I can rationalise that my then self didn't have the benefit of hindsight and they were seldom bad actions (not none unfortunately), maybe just inactions.

These thoughts can be triggered by something or just randomly arise sometimes.

This isnone of the things I am learning to deal with. Not giving myself a hard time for the past because I can't change it.

Thanks for this OP, saves me resurrecting my earlier thread from a few weeks ago

I've been on a rollercoaster of a few weeks now emotional and getting my head round health bits while battling anxieties of new people at work, new computer system and new way of logging what we are doing. I have a particularly savage negative inside voice... I am working towards talking therapies which starts next week, and am understanding some of my thoughts and triggers more. Some days I feel crap and the social battery flattens out and environmental factors like heat, noise and the business of the office take their toll, other times when I do our outreach I can take on the world. It's a new normal but its odd!

Today has been a good day. I'm sharing more and want to explore some different ways of working.

Great thread OP. Hope everyone is getting the right support they need. I’m doing a lot better in recent months. Had quite a dark spell for years due to life events that changed who I am but getting back to how I want to be.

Also happy for anyone to reach out if they need someone just to talk to
