Tattoos that are a turn off
Jump to: Newest in thread
So most people like tattoos either on themselves or others.
But I have found more and more recently that some people have tattoos that really turn me off.
Ones that look shit are in nonsense locations and make the person look like the scribble pad of a child.
Does anyone else feel this way?

Some tattoos have meaning. Some are d*unken mistakes. Some look incredible. Some look horrible. Some artists are genuinely talented, some don't have any talent.
I've heard some funny tattoo stories. |

If people don't like my tattoos or their placements then that's their problem not mine, all my tattoos have meanings to me along with their placements, I don't care if other people understand them or not they are for me not them.
Obviously people can have their own opinion that's a basic human right but me choosing to have them and where is mine.
If someone chooses not to meet me for them that's their choice

I'm sorry OP, but I find your wording here a little offensive. Tattoos are a very subjective thing. It's not up to the bystander to decide if someone's choice of placement or type of tattoo is "nonsense" or "looks shit". People as a whole are all different and that's what makes life interesting. |

People can choose to put whatever art or shite on their body as they please. I think to turn me off though, maybe a huge tattoo of their ex’s face on their chest or arse, looking at me, staring into my soul somehow.
Or the general hate/racism based ones which I honestly never see on people |

"All 10 of my large tattoos have a story and meaning behind them, they're all personal to me and I'm not bothered if someone found them a turn off because I had them for me and my reasons "
It doesn't really matter if they have meaning or not does it. It's your body to do what you wish with, and if Judgey McJudgey Pants doesn't like it, let them jog on 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ |

I'm very heavily tattooed Inc face, hands and feet.
I don't care for others opinions.
If other people find them a turn off that's fine, as long as they keep their opinions to themselves 🤷🏾♀️ |

I feel the same way. Though, to be honest, I’ve never been a particular fan of them and have none myself. |

I don’t mind smaller ones, but much larger tattoos and the types you mention, are personally a turn off for me. |

I’d make exceptions for the right person though. |

Surely it’s really no different to other elements of the physical features and personality of a person? Some people will like, the same ones others will not. As long as the wearer of the tattoo is fine that is all that matters. I try and live by the adage, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. Just move on. |

Generally speaking, I try to do the same and prefer a live and let live attitude, as long as others aren’t being harmed. The OP asked for opinions and I gave mine. I’m not the type who goes out of his way to express anti tattoo views. That being said, I will admit to not feeling great about commenting after just seeing another person in the replies mentioning that their own tattoos were to cover burn injuries. Something I failed to consider. |

Yeah and I'm having more ink work done in a couple of days, I don't think the OP would like it as it's in a friends handwriting so it will look like I've been written on |

A nonsense locations would be something like the absolutely hides and terribly done Bat that I saw on someone's forehead the other day
Did their child draw it. Maybe?
Did it need to be on their forehead. Probably not.
Does this person ever want to have a job. Clearly not. |

Tattoos aren't cheap so they probably already have a job.
It's so funny when people assume that people with tattoos can't get jobs
I have face tattoos and work a very respectable job.
Thankfully not everyone is as judgemental |

So personally, I like colourful artistic tattoos.
I like to hear the meaning that a specific tattoo has to the person also.
I don't like neck / face tattoos....but thats just my preference. |

Your tattoos from what I can see are fairly artistic the one I was talking about was a total mess and in the middle of the forehead |

I don’t like any tattoos to do with football and not keen on portrait/realism tattoos of family members. Some quotes/slogans can be a bit cringey as well, depending on what they say. But it’s their body, their choice. |

It’s not for me to judge. I am always curious about why someone has a particular tattoo. I.e. is it purely for the aesthetic appearance or do is signify something personal to the owner?
I’m often tempted to ask, especially when I see them at the gym or beach where they wouldn’t normally be exposed. |

Like anything else I think they suit some and not others but it is up to them to decide, what and where. I would though hate to see any tatoos that promote extreme political, racist, religious or whatever other extreme beliefs and quite frankly would make those illegal if they are not already. I am not one to judge even if I don't like a look of something. For some is an expression of them. As long as is nothing offensive or extreme, it is to each their own as far as I am concerned. Some people here have some beautiful tattoos on and I have on occasion told them so too. Like art, everyone likes different things and includes medium and subject matter. |

"That world renown 1940s German symbol would put me off
The Swastika was a symbol for peace and unity and even used by the Carlsberg Brewery before being shang hi'ed by Mr Hitler"
I am sure the Germans reversed the sacred symbol and made it very unholy. |

I don't have any, wouldn't judge anyone who has.
The only thing I would say is that 'if' they are meant as an expression of individualism, then it's not really working because a hell of a lot people are walking round looking pretty similar once coloured in. |
