I wonder if any nineties kids remember ZZZap! It seems to be largely forgotten, but I thought it was an interesting idea for a show and unique to other children's shows around. It was created with deaf children in mind.

It was called 'How we used to live' and it was very popular with Social Studies teachers for keeping pupils occupied.
All that came to an end with the introduction of the National Curriculum. From then on the syllabus became somewhat less relaxed.... and those large Decca TVs on wheels gave way to structured lessons, to the disappointment of many staff and pupils! |
