How friendly are you, do you have lots of friends, a select few, or just people you know.

I’m talking in real life here.
I’d say I’m very gregarious and feel at ease chatting and socialising with lots of people that I know.
The reality though is that I don’t feel I have genuine friends that I would share emotions with. I probably do that more on here than in civvy street.
I have moved a lot in my life and being a boss (kind of) at work can affect things I feel.
Anyway, not a pity party, I just wondered if I was alone, figuratively or otherwise, how is it with you guys.
I feel men have mates more than friends, but it could just be me. |

I'm not as sociable as I once was by choice, I feel kind of done with people. I have 3 friends and some acquaintances, I'm happy with that.
I have noticed that people are far less friendly than they used to be, whether that's because I'm older or not I don't know |

I have a number of groups of friends that have never met each other.
A group from school/college/where I grew up. Some from my 20s years in the same company. Then a group from the local pub. Then a group from the football team I follow and then finally friends on here and the lifestyle. |

I do t have many friends but those that fall in that very small circle of trust with anything. We don’t talk as much as I’d like due to life but they’re there!
Would it be great to have a slightly wider social circle sometimes yeah it would but equally I’m not a great people person I do like random conversations though! |

I'm super friendly, I love meeting new people. However I am not good a cultivating these friendships. I have identified that this is an issue, and I actively try to reach out and keep in contact with friends I've made over the years. I also worked abroad in Spain, France, Italy, UK, Denmark, Gibraltar, US, Croatia and Montenegro, Turkey and many more, social media definitely helps. |

I can honestly say that in 22 years in the UK, I made one friend, and she emigrated 10 years ago. I'm one of those foreigners who hasn't assimilated. The only actual friends I have in the UK are old friends from SA that also immigrated to the UK, and I very rarely see any of them.
I have been totally focused on my family since we arrived. My wife passing unexpectedly 4 years ago left me very adrift, and actually I haven't been motivated to "get out there" and make friends. All my old interests, which I could potentially leverage to meet people, seem a bit hollow ever since I was widowed. So I mostly just keep myself busy at home.
I get on well with my daughter, who's still at home, and that's good. It's a bit lonely when she's not around.
Anyway. There you have it.

I keep a small circle of good friends, too many is too much effort and usually comes with drama the bigger my circle.
How many true friends do we really have in a lifetime?
Loads of friendly acquaintances as i am friendly and outgoing when i want to be. |

An extremely small circle. I married my best friend. I'm not particularly close to anyone else anymore. Sure there's a couple of mates who I may see very occasionally and it's always nice to catch up, but besides that I'm happy with my little bubble.
I'm very friendly though, and would chat the ears off most people |

I am lucky to have a broad circle of friends, which is multiple circles. I know I can rely on them if ever I needed them.
However, I would consider only 2-3 of them close enough to speak in confidence with about really personal stuff. |

"I don’t have any friends. Having attended a couple of funerals recently, I’ve realised that my funeral would be very small"
Same. It will be family and any of my 3 friends who are still breathing.
A couple of years back we attended a funeral with 7 mourners. Singing morning has broken was a challenge |

I have 2 very good friends, we don't speak often (one is in northern Scotland and the other in Aus) but I could pick up the phone any time for a chat or for help and they'll have my back - and vice versa. I also have a close guy mate who again, I don't see often, we don't talk about deep stuff and yet I know he'd have my back if needed, and likewise I would for him.
I have lots of acquaintance friends, some I cycle with, some I might go to a gig with or for a coffee with. We enjoy spending time in each others company but aren't overly close and don't chat to or see each other often.
I'd quite like a close friend, both emotionally and geographically but I'm lucky with what I have |

" Yes i agree esoecially if you were in a long term relationship that broke down ,also a factor is you trust people less as you get older knowing the pitfalls ive always fealt i was friendly and outgoing but i feel that probably isnt the case i have a few friends that i can count on and lots of casuals i tend to get on with women better i feel. |

I like to think I’m quite friendly and have a lot of friends. I’ve got different circle of friends for different things (the car fanatics, those who like to go out to eat, the ones who like walking, the road trip gang, the tea drinking bunch, the school friends, college friends, primary school friends, the film critics and more)
…and then I’ve got my close circle of friends who I chat to every day. And also a set of Fab friends.
I’m grateful for those in my life. |

In my 20s and 30s I had a fairly large group of friends, the 'school gate mums', and we would socialise, with and without our children. Then we moved abroad and the friendships drifted.
These days I have two close friends I can confide in... one I met here 🫶 ... plus a few family friends. I don't need any more than that 😊 |

I have one friend who is constant for 25 years, I have a couple more who are between 5-8 years but not as close as the long term one. I know literally hundreds of people but I don’t consider them close friends |

I have a large family , 6 brothers and 2 sister and we have a lot of family friends, i have 12 really good friends from my navy days , who i class as real friends even though we probably only get to together 5 or 6 times , I have 8 lads that work for me that I must admit are close friends in and out of work and 2 that who currently id say are just mates , and away from that i only have 5 close friends
I class true friends as people id actually put up if the needed or lend money too ,,
Mates !! Quite a lot , but mates.to me are like the lads at the gym or who i play football with , id chat to them out of the usual environment but not much more 🤣
At times is great at others I find it can be overpowering lol |

I'm pretty friendly and will talk to anyone and have a lot of friendships, but I only have a handful of really good friends the type of friendships where some have lasted 40+ years and others 30 years.
Actually just spent a bit of time with old collage and school friends and it was great |

I have some friends and lots of people that I’m friendly with but I wouldn’t say I have any best friends anymore. As corny as it may sound my husband is my best friend even after all these many many years xx 😄

I have no one and do everything alone so I rarely speak. When I do go out I usually don't speak to anyone at all but sometimes I'll talk to randoms if I've been drinking a bit and in the right overall mood |
