Do more expensive jeans last longer?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Im not a jeans snob, and dont go for the makes nowadays because everyone else is wearing them, saying that I probably wouldn't go for a cheap pair off the market cause things like the zips/buttons will go relatively quickly, plus the basic cut of the jeans just don't suit/fit me. I usually but my jeans from Gap, pretty middle of the range but the cut of the jeans fit me very well |

I've a couple of pairs of Next jeans that have outlasted Ben Sherman ones.
I've a few pairs of Levi 511. The blue ones are mint. The black ones were awful, losing colour so quickly. The cotton on the black ones is no way near as tough, either.
So there's no one rule. |

The knees on my jeans tend to go within a couple of years regardless where they're bought from.
I've started getting work jeans instead so they're double-layered in the knee regions (kneegions?). Theoretically they'll last twice as long! |

Brand doesn't bother me, have had cheaper ones out last more expensive ones.
Fit is better in some brands but not always reflected in the price...sometimes you are solely paying for an over inflated ego of a name. |

I only own one pair of jeans. They've lasted me a few months so far, accommodate my arse, haven't faded in the wash and haven't gone through on the thighs yet due to the dreaded chub rub so they'll do me. They weren't designer ones though but they fit and are comfy. |

"I can imagine it all comes from the same factories as Primark/Top Shop et al.
So..."
There is a difference between Primark, Next and designer jeans. Primark will use lower quality jean material, less sturdy zips and cotton and they won't be finished off as thoroughly as more expensive jeans. There's a difference with stretch jeans too. |

The one thing I don't really skimp on is jeans. Unless they are on offer. But I don't pay stupid amounts either. The fits the most important thing and the cheaper ones aren't as good in most cases
There's like 2 or 3 brands I know I can count on for fit and quality. And it costs me about £50-60 a pair
Shop around and find what fits you best then stick to it |

I have always bought brand names, I find they fit me better and they do last, I normally go for Hugo Boss/Ted Baker and I have a pair of Paul smith jeans that I have had for about 5 years, A little washed out but they feel so soft |

I wear gap jeans daily, they seem to last quite well. It's usually the hems that go first. I got a pair of Salsa jeans when our house of frazer shut down ridiculously cheap and they are amazing! I would never pay full price for a brand like that though |

Are they the ones from the pic in Nov 16? If so, they look fantastic |

Some do , some don't. I've got a serious obsession with buying jeans and get them from various shops. I tend to just check the fabric quality rather than the price tag |

I will have a look Thanks just in case but most industry standard jeans and trousers don't go to 36" inside leg |

Ive actually started going into charity shops as top brands give the shops 2nds.
So a slight mark or stitching missing.
I recently had my eyes on a pair of jeans in River Island at £50... took a few bits to a local charity shop and had a browse, came across same pair of jeans £2.50! All the tags on,other sizes available. Nothing wrong with them that i can see. I go now and again to see what they have |

Due to being a short ass I used to shop in next as the petite range fit perfect, but the last couple of pairs didn't last well at all and the fit wasn't very good.
My last 3 pairs of jeans come from primark, 2 I inherited after my teen grew out of them so are about 3years old, the other pair I purchased the other week aged 11-12 |

I buy some of my jeans from local charity shops. Yes. Kill me, because chances are they'll get used for working in. They last just as long as they last.

I think River Island generally make the best jeans, not least because they cater for shorties. Worth the price, which isn't excessive, by cost vs amount of wear jeans are by far the best value items of clothing in my opinion anyway. |

Ah, jeans.
From Brutus, wearing Levi's in the bath and putting up with Wranglers right through to years of frustrated wearing of jeans that never fit properly, I've given up. And what is it with stretchy jeans that have the consistency of tights? |

Most jeans of all makes are made by the same factories. The denim is the same but maybe slightly different in colour. The differences are the pattern or Stiching pattern.
It's good knowledge from the tv series how it's made lol. |
