Thinking of organising another social in early 2023 in Edinburgh, probably another pub crawl which I know is not everyone cup of tea but the last one was very good fun and I also noticed there were some people that snuck off together between pubs so was apparently very fun…
Anyways, as always looking for rough numbers and availability and stuff, probably will be the Saturday 25th of feb most likely, being that will be the second pay day of the year and most people are skint by the end of January and have to catch up with bills etc so wouldn’t assume there’d be a great turn out on that month lol.
Anyway, if anyone’s interested let me know, I’ve already spoken to some people about it and got some requests and ideas too |

Obviously as I posted in the OP that I know that a pub crawl is not going to suit everyone, but it does suit those that I have already talked to about it.
It’s also easier to organise, it’s easier to arrange that people meet at one place and move to another and so forth as a lot of places don’t want a swingers group arriving and in the past even times that we have booked a place but not told them that it’s for a group of swingers, we have somehow ended up with emails rejecting the booking as it has somehow been brought to the venues attention that the booking has been for a swingers social night.
Even a social that I have been to that was with a venue that knew and gave us our own private floor with a DJ etc and promised discretion, near the end of the night as people stepped out for a fag they were approached by other club goers asking if they were out for “that swingers night”
The idea of a pub walk yes means moving from place to place but it accounts for the fact that some places can be funny, it also allows people the option of between venues if they are not “feeling it” that they can slink off, it’s purely a means to an end around the fact that some venues can be funny about what groups attend and allow everyone attending to expect that occasionally we will be moving pubs.
If we during the night find ourselves in a venue that everyone is comfortable staying in and there is no reason to move we won’t, it’s not like a trail where we have to hit certain pubs, it’s just an acknowledgment that there might be moving pubs during the night |

That’s a shame that you’ve had issues with pubs. I’ve organised socials on a regular basis in Glasgow at two venues without any issues. I also do a regular Fab meet up for a weekly quiz without any issues.
We don’t give out venue details until the day of the social.

Loving the responses from this guys, been getting a lot of positive feedback, just to let you know that if you’re interested in coming along please send me a message. By all means still post up a message in the forum thread if you wish to let others know that you’re interested, just it’s easier for me to keep track when it’s through PMs

Ok so just a quick admin post on this thread to answer a few questions and straighten some stuff out.
1, yes it’s still going ahead and will be the 25th of February.
2, I cannot and will not post up the location for absolutely everyone to see that is unsafe and unwise so can single males please stop mailing me asking me to do this please
3, no it is not all single males coming, I will be mediating the number of single males just again for safety and comfortability of the other social go-ers, this may seem harsh to others as I myself am a single man but nobody wants to come to a social that it’s like 47 single guys and then just one couple.
4, to some of the people on this thread, if you have posted up you’re interested, I need to be able to contact you. There’s some people on this thread that have blocked single guys or have me outside of their age range, that’s simple enough to get around just message me first and then I can reply.

Sounds great. Sadly not around that weekend otherwise I would be asking to be one of the guys...

Just to point out as well, there is not a fixed number of anyone going, my method is merely the more couples and single women are going the more single men are given the green light to keep a nice healthy balance.
Just to clear that up as I seem to be getting a fair few messages about it.
But it is not a thing like there are only so many spaces for everyone as it’s not like a ticketed event or anything so feel free to still throw your name/names in the hat |

So we now have a date, time and location for the first pub to go to, some folk are booking hotels and others will be travelling to and from, there’s still some spaces available so feel free to get in touch if you’re interested in coming x |

Hi guys, just keeping folk updated, I’m afraid I’ve been feeling rather unwell for a few days and today tested positive for covid
This means I’m more than likely not going to be able to make my own bloody social…
However I will message those currently on the list and have confirmed that they are going and let them know.
If you guys would like I can create a kik group for those going to chat and still organise yourselves to meet, don’t want all my hard work to be completely worthless
And obv if I’m testing negative in time and feeling better I will still come.

I don’t use kik so I’ll look on the forum for updates as to whether this goes ahead or not! Hotel booked, non refundable so hopefully the evening can be rescued! |

Amazing! I don't know if there is actually a kik group going for this or if it's just being kept to the forum for now. I don't really use it anymore to be honest, more on Telegram these days for that sort of thing so if there isn't one going then I'm happy to set one up |

I can no longer make it as I have to be back in London. I will be around in Edinburgh on Wednesday and Thursday night so happy to meet anyone out for a drink those night and can host in my hotel room |

Hey guys, so just another update, have still got confirmation from pretty much everyone who was originally going that they are still going, event is still going ahead, I am starting to feel a bit better too so hopefully on the mend and will make it on Saturday.
Those that have confirmed and have kik I am setting up a kik group today but not many people that have confirmed on fab also have kik so the size of the kik group does not represent all that is coming
Those that are still interested by all means send me a message and I’ll let you know about space/numbers etc but remember to always be respectful and remember that in regards to the social, discretion is key as we all have life’s outside of fab |

Hi guys sorry for the radio silence for the last couple of days I have taken a wee down turn with the covid and been feeling really poorly, got a bit more energy today so popped on to keep everyone in the loop.
The social is still going ahead, there is nothing to suggest otherwise I don’t know why people are worried about it
Everyone on the list to go has already been sent the information as to where and when to meet, and many on the list have sent me the details and have been added to a kik group chat
On Saturday if you are unsure of who is who at the venue then you can always send a selfie to one of the people who have confirmed they are there in the forum and they will recognise you and join you with the other fabbers
If you have not been sent the time and location of the social yet then you may be on the waitlist so don’t worry, if you have not heard from me at all then it is unlikely that there will be space as there is already quite a large number going and many on the waitlist.
If you have been given the information of where and when but now cannot make it or you get cold feet, please message me so I can pass on the information.
Anyone who is going who is happy to swap face pics with profiles on fab to help them be recognised please also post up on here thank you |
