Has anyone been the "Kinky Bar" in the CITA, noticed the signs for it but haven't had chance to look in yet.

Glenrothes

Walked past it a few times when it was closed and always wondered what it was like. Might give it a try when I’m over next, so interested to hear what others think

We’ve been in several times. We always get a warm welcome from Andrea, the owner. It’s nice inside and there are play areas but most people sit and chat at the bar. Only negative for us is smoking is allowed, we are non smokers, but it doesn’t put us off.

Sounds a bit like what Route 69 used to be, always good banter in there

Is there any non-smoking clubs there?

Plenty or at very least a separate smoking area

Would you be able to tell me the names of the non-smoking clubs please?

gran Canaria

Hopefully we will see changes re smoking this year as it's now, effectively, illegal even in outside terraces... So clubs/bars allowing smoking will be breaking the law... Here's some info from AI

As of early 2026, the rules for smoking on terraces in Gran Canaria (and across Spain) have become significantly stricter.

?While Gran Canaria was once a "smoker's paradise" due to its warm weather and outdoor culture, a major legislative shift has changed the landscape. Here is the current situation:

?The Short Answer

?No, smoking is generally no longer legal on bar and restaurant terraces in Gran Canaria. A national anti-smoking law, which moved through the Spanish parliament in late 2025 and came into full effect for the 2026 season, has effectively banned smoking and vaping in most outdoor hospitality areas.

?Key Rules to Know

?Hospitality Terraces: Smoking is prohibited on the terraces of bars, cafes, and restaurants, regardless of whether they are open-air or semi-enclosed.

?Vaping & E-Cigarettes: The new laws treat vapes, "heat-not-burn" tobacco, and shisha the same as traditional cigarettes. If you can't smoke it, you can't vape it.

?Beaches: Many popular beaches in Gran Canaria (like Las Canteras in Las Palmas) have their own local bans. Look for "Playa sin humo" (Smoke-free beach) signs.

?Buffer Zones: You are typically required to stay at least 15 meters away from the entrances of schools, hospitals, and health centers when lighting up.

?Fines: Penalties for lighting up in restricted areas can be steep, ranging from minor fines for individuals to very large fines for establishment owners who permit smoking.

"Where abouts is it in the cita centre?"

If you go in the entrance off Av De Francia street you'll see a supermarket on your left, turn left after the supermarket and walk to the end of the corridor and you'll see it on the left. There's also signs up pointing the way.

It’s our favourite place in the Cita centre, great Techno music, great place to play and the owner Andrea is fantastic. Looking forward to our next visit in October.

We visited most nights when we were there in March.
