Prosecuted for sex in public?

We recently had the pleasure of trying a UK nudist beach, which was quite deserted and we enjoyed it so much, it lead to more. UK law does not make nudity illegal anywhere unless you are doing it to offend. Sexual acts in public on the other hand are. Which is a real shame as it's really enjoyable. Has anybody ever been caught by the authorities doing something more than nudity and what were the consequences? |

Think its difficult to find places secluded enough these days, and possibly people don't help themselves by saying what they get up to and where ...even in secluded places there's always that risk of someone who'd take offence ... |

Put it this way, if I was walking along minding my own business and not looking to see people fucking, I would be pretty pissed off about it and shouldn’t have to see that if I wasn’t looking for it. It doesn’t matter if it’s a man, woman, couple etc, it’s an intrusion on the rights of others. I could have my kid with me or anything.
Nudists are, in my experience, very much about the nudity being a freedom, not to get aroused. So I imagine despite being naked themselves, they probably felt the same way I would |

So far so good. We love outdoor sex and we're also naturist in the very vanilla sense.
It's all a matter of common sense and respect for other people.
With regards naturism we enjoy the outdoors and our legal rights to be naked outdoors. Be it on a beach (which often isn't a designated naturist beach), fresh water swimming or just enjoying the countryside we are careful to keep our distance from textiles and not to impose our (all be it legal) nutidy on them. Most normal adults have no problem with naturist who are keeping themselves to themselves. So we are selective in terms of where we choose to be naked out of avoiding unnecessary hassle or upsetting folk needlessly. Generally choosing quieter spaces and locations. It's just a ballance of common sense and respect.
As to sex in the outdoors we're very careful. Not just because of the law but because of simple respect for other people who are not expecting or consent to seeing sexually motivated stuff. So we take great care not to be seen. If by the off chance we are hopefully any reasonable person can see are intention is to be private and leave us be. However if by the off chance it is reported we can demonstrate our understanding that we believed we were doing it in private and not intending to be overlooked or upset/offend anyone.

If you are in a reasonably secluded spot away from families then no crime.
I understand comments re children seeing it...
But if you are a lone/paired adult and you are traumatised by the site of a couple playing then you are working hard at being offended.
The world has much worse to offer in terms of the real atrocities going on every day.

Couldn't agree more ....it's the same in public loos ...If I had a kid and they walked into a loo to see a guy or guys mutually wanking I'd be really annoyed .
I know it's a thrill to some but there's a time and place as they say . |

More the idea that people having sex is such a big deal.
People are starving, oppressed, at war..someone somewhere is being starved, tortured, pimped, set on fire,forced into servitude, blown to bits in the name of someone elses morals..blah blah.
It's about perspective.
And yeah. Someone being offended by something others are doing consensually .that doesn't hurt or impinge them pretty much is their problem. |

There was a case a few year ago of two female PCSO's who followed a car on a single track road to a secluded beach car park in the dead of night
There were only two cars there ..the "suspect car" and the patrol car ..after a few minutes the two female PCSO'S approached the only other vehicle and confronted the two adults who were clearly engaging in a sex act and promptly booked them and reported them for prosecution.
It transpires that the two adults engaging in the sex act were both married but not to each other,when it got to court and the details of the incident came out..the judge dismissed the case and ordered the two PCSO's senior officer to instill some common sense into the void where the PCSO's brain cell would have been...case dismissed . |

Yes- my fwb at the time pulled over on a quiet lane and started having fun in the back seat... minutes later a police car pulled up and I had to wind down my window just to say it was all innocent... even though I was naked from the waist down. If I'd been asked to step out of my car, there'd have been a problem... they were 2 policewoman too.
Could have asked to borrow their handcuffs but it might not have gone down too well. |

I would guess the point is sex in private is OK. Given the circumstances there was no one (other than the PCSO's) to be offended, outrage or to provide anything close to a public for public indecency and its hardly a busy wide open public space. Considering those PCSO willingly followed the couple and willing went to see based of no complaint or in protection of any member of public hanging around all bets are off in terms a criminal case in the public interest. I mean no lawyer but surely the only criminal act here is a willing act of voyeurism from the PCSO's |

That is basically the lay of the land there. The offence relies on the observation of that sexual activity by a member of the public. If your in a public place, there's no expectation of privacy, so it's a really hard one to wiggle out of.

I've read this multiple times to try and understand what your trying to get at here.
Bottom line is, if someone is walking in the woods, they probably don't really want to stumble across people with their cock out banging away at the Mrs.
It's not about "snowflakes" or trying to be offended. It's about courtesy and common decency.
People in general don't want to stumble across sex in a public place 🤷🏻 |

This thread has talked more about what people consider acceptable or not, which is very subjective, as illustrated by the diverse range of opinions. Although in relation to the original question, it's irrelevant as it's illegal to partake in sexual activity in public (of course what constitutes sexual activity could be another topic of debate with hugs being deemed non-sexual on one side and intercourse obviously being sexual on the other but somewhere between you have to draw a line). The actual question was trying to find out if anybody had been caught by the authorities and if so what were the consequences? |

Personally know of no-one who's been prosecuted, however the likely consequence of a prosecution would be signing the sex offenders register.... |
