Hi all, hope you are enjoying the sun!

We are possibly getting back into the action as it were after a long lay off. Couple of meets are possible, how do you guys broach the subject of testing? Do people test for every meet?

Just something that we are a bit unsure about and just wanted to know how you guys go about it

Thanks xx

Testing proves that at the exact moment of testing you had no problems.

The. Exact. Moment

If you are meeting in the next exact moment, then cool.

Otherwise there is no difference between tested and untested.

Draw your own conclusions.

I don't think it's possible to test before every meet, obviously depending on how often you meet. Also, certain STDs take time to become detectable. Plus any test is only good on the day it was taken- people may have taken the test, then engaged with risky sex afterwards.

True but, I think it shows that they are likely to take their sexual health more seriously than say somebody who has never had a test at all!

Yup, I suppose! Our last experience was for content creation and tests are a must. Still the same scenario but just is a bit more regulated

Pretty naive tbh. The real way to look at it is that someone who tests probably wants bareback. In which if you aren't sure you are next in line, then you are running the risk.

Tests only record that at the time of testing a human didn't have 1 of the diseases that were tested for, return a positive result. Unless you are there at the same time, you don't know what was tested for, who was tested and thus couldn't know if those diseases would have been present but unable to reveal a positive infection result.

Many places don't reveal which diseases have been tested for, in the notified results. In the Virus section, a lot of people state this is how their local sexual health services issue the result, in an ongoing thread.

We all should test regularly but advice varies on the frequency. People who take Prep and Doxy Pep, get a potentially lower risk of positive results, depending on their actions.

Also, be aware that not all infections are ever tested for, so anyone saying they've never caught anything, can't know unless a virgin.

I think it is impractical to test for every single meet. That would be really annoying if you tested, then they cancelled and your next potential meet demanded a test. Even porn stars don’t do that. They test every six months, some once a year and the STD rate is ridiculous low in that community. People get their knickers in a knot when it comes to all this over testing and being really overly zealous with it all. Just have fun and if someone turns up unwashed/unclean then it’s obvious what to do from that point.

If someone gets a full spectrum test on a regular basis it shows they care about their health, we are both tested on a regular basis once a month through SHu and it's a simple process and never had a positive result thankfully.

We test frequently, but unless you abstain from the point of testing its not always an accurate result.

In 4 years of swinging, I've never had anyone ask me.

Not true, at least for content on sites. Creators test for pretty much every shoot.

I (Bry) test every three months (but then I don't play very much) and Char tests every four weeks with results on paper (for content that we never do!). But we still play safe with everyone anyway.

I dont think this is strictly true, there are more ways than one to get STDs....doesnt have to be penetration, oral for instance? Think its just a bit of common sense to test if you are sexually active with different people, especially if you dont know them

Which is understandable.

But even then, unless they test, wait for a clear result during which time they abstain from any sexual contact for a fortnight, then test again and wait for the second set of results....there's no guarantees given the nature of STD's and how long they can take to show a positive result.

Yes testing should be a given for anyone indulging in non monogamy. Ideally a minimum of every 3 months.

But like a car MOT a result is a snapshot of a moment. You can do as much as you can to stay safe (condoms) but there's plenty that can be transmitted even with them. There's no test for men for hpv. 🤷‍♂️

If you ask for testing what proof will satisfy you, given many centres only send a text and services such as SH:UK provide results with a person's full name on - something some may not be happy to share?

Content creation is a world apart from generic swinging.

I test once a month regardless of a meet. Symptoms could take time to develop so better to be safe. If I have a meet planned I get a test unless I've already had one recently. I show my results when we meet (although it's possible to send a link). I always bring condoms and lube. Better to be safe than sorry. We can all do our due diligence and there's still a risk. That's life. It's good to have clear boundaries on what you expect. 👍🏾☺️

Dee still does the odd shoot here and there and like yourselves the testing thing is always asked for by all parties.

I think my take from this is bring up the subject... you can tell a lot about a person's regard for their health by how they answer it. The actual answer is less relevant than the defensiveness.

(I've tested once in a year, but then I've only played twice)
