"Hi my wife has for the last 15 years suffered from on point of orgasm a blinding migraine sets in I wondered if other lady's suffer this and if so what they do about if anything "
I used to get them. Comes on like a Thundercats. I never did figure out why. Very much not pleasant!!
Trying to relax helped but didn't cure it. Hydration helped a bit too. Was far worse I'm Summer. Maybe heat related? |

I have had that bad of a migrane i can't open my eyes for a few minutes when I cum. It can be that bad I have cried with the pain. I suffer with migraine on a regular basis but when I orgasm on occasion it can be so unbearable. |

I (Mr)used to get horrendous headaches upon orgasm when I was on antidepressants,I think it was having to really concentrate to be able to cum that caused it.
Also
Possibly might be worth checking her blood pressure |

I had exactly the same issue, and still do occasionally. It’s mainly random although tends to be particularly prevalent if I’ve been having sex for a few hours, and have put in a shift in terms of physical exertion. |

Sometimes when playing with the wand and as I cum, I can feel a pain going up my neck and I end up with a severe banging headache where I literally can't move for about 5 minutes. I can feel it coming but can't stop myself before. It would be interesting to know why this happens and if it happens to more women? X |

I get this sometimes particularly with edging.
I spoke to my GP about it years ago, who had never heard of it. She in turn spoke to a neurologist. He had said it wasn't a concern as it goes again pretty quickly once I stop.
I've actually been suffering with them more regularly recently but I do suffer with high blood pressure nowadays so will have to go back and see my GP again I think.
Because I know it's a risk I refuse to be restrained etc as I need immediate release when it's triggered.

Thank you for the response I personally have no faith in the doctors as went about 5 years ago they gave me all the checks including sexual checks they found nothing and said basically they weren't prepared to delve any further |

I get them too. Massive pains across my forehead. I was sent for a CT scan.
Consultant said to make sure there’s a slow build up to any orgasm, he also said to keep away from red wine and marmite.
I find all three hard to resist! |

I had this for about a year after my Daughter was born. It was so bad I avoided sex!
I, too, think it was blood pressure related. But 15 years is a long time to suffer!
I would revisit a (different) health professional. x |

I used to get them. Before I had hysterectomy surgery! Suspect it was, for me, hormone and/or blood pressure triggered.
Eyesight can be another trigger, as can gnashing of teeth.
Might be worth talking to the nurse at the surgery or a pharmacist. |

check your blood pressure. Also eliminate the usual suspects, booze, coffee, chocolate, fluorescent tubes, perfumes, meds and other chemicals.
I have a proven method to stop migraines in their tracks, even when started.
Works every time and I've seen the smiles return within minutes. |

Challenge accepted.
This is easier for glasses wearers. Put your middle finger on the edge of your eyebrows and let your index finger find the pit and blood vessels a few mils around the bony bit of the eyebrow bone.
This should make the arms of your glasses raise.
That's the easy bit.
Now press that pit and blood vessel with your strongest finger and squeeze it so hard, that it hurts (you're gonna be in pain for a long time otherwise)and squeeze it for 30-60 seconds. That should deny the pain source of enough blood pressure, to allow normal service to resume.
Release and see how you feel. Hopefully better
There is nothing worse than having a migraine, going to the chemist and arguing the toss that paracetamol will not be up to it and ibuprofen/aspirin will not be compatible with GERD (Longterm heart burn) only to find out that your vision is fading fast in one eye. The clock is ticking at this point.
Hope this helps, it did last year!
Patience is not a virtue, it's torture at this point. |

As the male half of thic couple I will openly state that this has happened to me. Note every time, not by a long chalk, but when it does happen it's excruciating. Often referred to as sex headaches or orgasm headaches, advice can be found online.
Funny thing is I haven't had one for a very long time, but we all know what's gonna happen now |

Check thunderclap headache.
She had one after a big orgasm, ended up in hospital for 48hrs as the dr's were concerned. She called our GP about something routine shortly after and mentioned it. Said we will look into your reason for calling later, the headache go to hospital now, I'll tell them you're coming.
Once all good I do like to claim I almost fucked her to death!
But seriously, thunderclap headache. |

Post orgasmic migraine, similar to post exertion migraines and thunderclap headaches/migraines.
Speak with the doctor as they can be an underlying symptom of some other much more serious issues. But more commonly they are just migraines, making sure to be hydrated, lower caffeine and getting good regular exercise can help as long as there are no serious underlying conditions.

I get orgasm headaches, but certainly not every time.
They happen more often with multiple orgasms and when I am in cowgirl position.
They are excruciating, but only very short-lived.
I think keeping myself hydrated helps reduce the likelihood of them occurring.
They're bad, but manageable because of their short duration and them not happening all the time.
If they are long lasting like a migraine or happen very frequently OP I would definitely get a check up with a Dr. |

I get this normally when I masturbate as I only clit stumiulate. If an orgasm is intense it can cause a increase in blood pressure which can bring on these types of migraines. I think talking to people it seems most are migraine sufferers to start. Most of the time it ends as the orgasm does but can last longer. Thankfully not had to worry about this during ingercourse yet. I definatly feel your wifes pain x |

As well as raised blood pressure, you might want to get checked at the opticians to rule out subacute angle closure glaucoma. It’s uncommon with sex, but it’s worth checking especially if from Southeast Asia or have long sighted-ness (hypermetropia. |

Yes I occasionally get an instant blinding pain headache when I orgasm. I’ve looked it up and it’s a proper medical problem! Can’t do anything about it sadly. Luckily I don’t get it all the time. Horrible. Talk about spoiling your fun !! |

Post coital migraines are fairly common, there are a few causes some benign and a few can be serious. Certain alcohol can cause it, blood pressure, positions which compress cervical muscles, arteries and nerves are common, however if these are severe and regular I would send the individual for a CT scan to rule out cerebral aneurysm or space occupying lesions. I’ve had a few people over the years have post coital aneurysm burst and resulted in stroke. |

Previously had issues like this. Blood flows rapid up the base of the neck to the head.giving a vice like grip across the temples.
Stress and high blood pressure where the most noted causes the doctors advised. |

Yep.
But i also got migraines dancing, exercising etc etc...
There are a whole host of treatments for migraine prevention. Ironically I only got treatment from a neurologist when he realised my husband hadn't had sex in 3 years because i couldn't cum. (we glossed over the fact hubby is asexual).
Eventually I got a 2nd opinion, was perscribed botox and went from 1+ migraines a day to 1 a week |

"Just stopped one in its tracks. The aurora was a different colour this time. I would blame the booze: but I was only looking at the packaging and that's what did it."
Just had the sequel today and discovered a new drug for people that can't have asprin or Iboprofen. £8 for two tabletrs. It shifted the aurora, my orbital pits are sore, but that's the pressure points getting used up. Vsion was better after one hour and a lie down. |

good advice, light sensitivity to very patchy overcast days and flickering fluorescent bulbs in shops etc can floor me after a few seconmds exposure. |

you poor soul!
My latest suffering keeps trying to move into migrane/headache/too much tension/pressure.....and I keep fighting it with exercise/days off/lying about doing nothing/breathing exercises/do not disturb on devices...I know not everyone can do this but I have to do what I can to avoid hospital .... physical health and mental health. |

Get your blood pressure checked, hypertension can and has lead to a brain haemorrhage often while having sex. |

I've had this happen a few times. Have to take sumatriptan and Metoclopramide or I end up being violently ill. Generally requires sleep afterwards too. I've had several migraines my whole damn life. It's like my brain explodes right before my cock does. |

I always put this down to being overweight and working too hard to reach orgasm. I'm still sure that this is part of it - I don't find it easy to cum and haven't done for some time -, and I think it's part psychological, but this thread has given me some other possibilities. Who'd have thought you could learn about medical issues on a swinger's forum? |

"All sounds like a blood pressure problen"
you say that, yes locally around the eye it's true, but my BP is 120/80 and pulse ate at rest is around 69.
Certain lighting conditions don't help: very bright and overcast skies caused the last two. Dodgy fluorescent tubes can do it in ten seconds or less. |
