I don't own a classic car but enjoy going to shows and chatting to those who do . I did have a Nissan 350z for a few years but would not be described as a classic. If I were to buy a classic I think a TR6 would be my choice or Lotus Europa .I have driven neither . |

Bicester Scramble was the place to be today, TWR show case, plenty of toys there if you were lucky enough to get a ticket.
I don't own a classic, have done but involved in the industry. Mainly Jags.
Have a "youngtimer" as they call it on the continent (which is an awesome name).
2008, XF SV8. |

My Dad had one of the first Interceptors when they came out.
I have just renovated a 2009 Hyundai Coupe, it’s the rarer TSIII version, and only 28k. |

Looking to buy a classic car but not sure what to buy, I would really like a mark 2 cortina but looking at the price they are fetching now I think it might have to be something else.
Maybe triumph or Renault will just have to keep looking, going to race retro in a couple of weeks maybe there might be something there for me |

I always liked the MK2 Cortina but they are getting rare & expensive, MK4 Cortinas might be worth a look , Triumph Dolimites or the 6 cylinder 2,000 are nice to drive good luck with your search |

Yes I know the mark 2 are expensive now but I do like them more than the mkIV. I have looked a few dolomites and quite like them or a stag would be nice, like 2,000 as you say and they are not badly priced |

The Stag engine is lovely when running right but has many problems & requires careful maintenance |

regular anti freeze changes & timing chain changes are still imperative, many other V8s thrive on neglect, stags do not |

Wife here. I've never really been much of a car person. Mister got me into Top Gear and Grand Tour. I'd love to know more, and our kid is a gear head in the making. Love to take him to some car shows, but not sure where to start.
We've been to a Hot Wheels stunt show and are going to the monster truck show in May.
Where to start without breaking the bank? |

There are some really good shows locally, and the local scene is a great one to support, but it depends on what you enjoy.
If it's classic cars and the sedated nature, then have a look at local car clubs.
If you are looking for something a bit more modern and varied, then there are some really good breakfast meet places, Baffle Haus in Cardiff (Pontypool venue is more motorbike focused), Ignition Shed just outside Abergavenny.
Or look out just over the bridge at the Queen's square meets.
Breakfast meets are usually free to attend and wander around and are designed to highlight a venue with a new audience. |

We don’t have a Classic Car. However, we do have a Campervan. Overall though, we wouldn’t mind meeting a nice couple at a quiet Car Park with their Classic Car if you catch our drift lol.
