Which types of people do you get along with?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I was in a car showroom over the weekend and trying to make up my mind about a car.
There were initially 2 salesman. All including the 3rd...were in their late 50's.
1 I took a dislike to, who was negotiating with another customer and I was not impressed. Had an overbearing personality that I couldn't be arsed with....which I will on most days, actively avoid.
2 Was on his phone for most of the time and when I thought. Ok I'm going to speak to you. Promptly got a call from his boss. So I went back to sitting in the waiting area and thinking they're not interested.
3 I'd not seen and I was about to leave and go pick up my car which was in for a service.
He was also on his phone....but put it down immediately and started talking to me and we got along just fine.
So my question: Which types of people do you gravitate to? And which do you avoid?
For me, loud, self opinionated, I'm seriously not drawn to.
Unless they know their stuff and don't bull shit. (Thinking of a lady at work that has since left and we'd known each other, 15 years.)
Quiet, but can put their point across, with sarcasm/humour very much drawn to. |

I don't have much time for loud, brash people or people who talk about themselves and how amazing they are, or brag about social status or their finances... people who do the one upmanship. Rude people, arrogant people.
Give me an introvert, someone whos a deep thinker with a curious nature anyday |

Only the people who listen first rather than keen to tell. I take professional advice of course but you must allow me to ask the qestions and offer that advice with clear explanations and justification. Try to ignore my opinion from the start without listening carefull or display arrogance and you lost my custom. You will also be given a reason as to why. If you don't have the time and right attitude for me I just walk away. These days would do the same even if I was sat at a resraurant, shopping or wherever. I expect manners as a minimum. |

I get along with nice people who have some respect for others and are able to make you laugh. Unlike self conceited people or people who have a bell on every tooth and talk a load of bullshit and lie. They get caught out!

"I'm assuming the question isn't about sales people?
But I'm drawn to really interesting people with things to say. Funny people. Kind people. People open with their thoughts and feelings. "
Amen to this |

Generally, I prefer quieter wiser people, understated confidence, people who think a little bit before they speak.
But I have a few friends who are the complete opposite - arrogant know it alls, dominates conversations, super intelligent, witty and funny with it, it’s forgivable because they do some amazing things with it , so generous and loyal, so It kind of trades off the negative part of the character |
