"There aren't many men that I can forgive for brown/tan shoes with blue trousers/jeans tbh... They just don't sit right with me... Couldn't tell you why "
Yeah, it was very popular a couple of years ago but it just doesn’t go together in my eyes. The combination is not flattering at all.
But, also as you said, it can be essily forgivable with the right person. |

I quite like the brown shoes/dark blue combo but then my taste is shocking at times so don't take this as validation OP.
It was a reason. Probably not the actual reason but sod it, there's a whole sea of fanny on here and they won't give you sartorial stress. |

I don't think they look right together, but I wear Crocs (in the garden not in public). Is that a real reason why women won't meet a guy!?! Couldn't she have just asked you to wear different shoes on your date? Sounds a bit petty to me. |

Ridiculous! When people start nit picking other people’s clothes, especially clothes they were wearing themselves a couple of years ago, you’ve definitely dodged a bullet.

I wouldn't use brown shoes but sometimes you want to let someone down gently so you use something like location, age etc to not hurt their feelings.
It's not nice being personal so I guess its possible that's why they did it.

"I don’t own any brown shoes, but do have a couple of pairs of dark brown boots, and they always get worn with dark blue or black jeans. "

Ah, this now makes more sense. I thought the term 'shoes' was a colloquium term for this thread.
Agreed: brown/tan suede boots or Chelsea boots do indeed go with blue/indigo and black jeans, but not brown shoes.
Brown shoes (i.e. brogues or oxfords) wouldn't go with the denims, but they go perfectly well with plain blue/blue pinstripe trousers - the reason being that black shoes clash with blue trousers/suits.
Black shoes only go with black, grey, charcoal etc suits. |
