So many really good ones and some mentioned above that were so bad I switched off
However, at present I would probably go for
The Sopranos completely revolutionised TV dramas
Breaking Bad very similar to Sopranos in very gritty hard hitting with a bit of tongue in cheek humour thrown in
The whole George RR Martin story ie, Game of Thrones, House of Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
There are others that for me were amazing but don’t make my top 3
Currently watching The Pitt that so far is amazing
Don’t see all of The Wire but, what I did see was good
Sons of Anarchy I see figures highly with many in here. Series One was OK, Two fell apart and I switched off middle of Series 3 as it became an absolute joke. Storylines became pathetic, characters were very weak and predictable and yes it fell very short of waisting any more of my time

"Seeing The Wire recommended again and again and feel I'm missing out. Tried to watch it a few years ago and it looked dated so bailed halfway through the first episode. Might try it again."
You have to watch the whole 6 seasons to understand why it was an absolutely ground breaking series FYI.
There's also a documentary on the making of it afterwards, only then will you understand what an amazing TV show it was. |

House (can't believe it hasn't been mentioned?)
Breaking Bad (slow start, stick with it)
I am struggling to pick a 3rd as I fell out of love with Prison Break, Vikings, Peaky Blinders etc after about 4 seasons |

Breaking Bad
I can't say the entire run of Game of Thrones, that shit started to faulter hard as season 5 ended, and only got worse.
I may need to do some pondering on this for the remaining two positions, but Andor is a strong candidate. |

I should have included Frasier as well. I saw a recent documentary on Frasier. When he was young the actor's real father and sister were killed by men named Niles and Frederick (the name of his character's brother and son in the show). Apparently it was therapeutic to attach their names to fictional characters that he could love and say again and again for the show's 11 year run. I think overtime it probably does work in the healing process. |
