When people say they don't like a certain accent, do they mean the strongest of the strong versions of the accent or any hint of it?
I only say this because I have won over a fair few scouse accent haters with mine. |

I like some, most are fine. Nothing that I'd wank myself silly over or make my clit retreat.
There are a few I have a real weakness for (RP, Aberdonian, the accent that comes with "darling" and "ya alright luv ) but generally it's the voice that does it for me. The clarity of their tone, the pitch, various other things. Some people sound nasally or guttural, not keen on that but I can overlook it. Have done before.

I mean there are plenty of scousers that I do cringe at, it always seems they often find the worst to put on TV so the stereotype is upheld.
Even a couple of people in my day to day I have to stop and question what they just said that their accent is so strong.
But scouse is definitely an accent that has a lot of varied intensity to it compared to some others. |

Same here - I have marked Scouse/Northern-inflected speech but people with very strong local accents would probably not consider me native |

I agree, I often get asked where about in Scotland I'm from by Scousers that I come across here in Cyprus. I cringe at the strong scouse accent 🤦♀️ |

I dont really have an accent that does or doesn't attract me. Think its more a voice. Somebody said similar further up. Think it was UB?
Weighing in on the scouse thing (having said affliction 😂).
Definitely variations in it. Opposite ends of the city have differences. I personally can't stand the over the top, forced, drawn out accent the kids all seem to have, or people from the borders (Wirral, Prescot etc) put on to prove "scouseness". Scouse is a naturally fast dialogue. So genuine, old school, fast talking scouse (which I have) gets drawn in with the bad rep of the "kidda" Northface Ninja accent unfortunately. |

I know what you mean. Having Irish family, I know there is a pretty big difference between a Belfast accent and a Mayo accent 😂 |

I quite like a Scottish accent on a woman, especially from around Glasgow.
Some Irish accents are nice, as is the scouse accent. But for me recently the german accent is very sexy and just does things to me.
Im sat in a pub right now and a women just answered her phone speaking german, so im very happy! |

Londonderry accent is worst thing ever.
Theres so many accents in ireland both North and south, and scotland is the same. |

Posh British accent...Spanish...French (although I just like the accent, not the language 👀). Other accents (Irish, Scottish, Italian, South African, russian, Scandinavian, Indian...) really depend if I find the person attractive |

Nobody says there isn't a difference. It's not really relevant to the point of this thread. Are both accents Irish-sounding? Yes. Do people find an Irish-sounding accent sexy, even if there are massive differences in the accent between different regions? Yes. |
