In a previous career, I dealt with a lovely couple, lesbians, who'd been assaulted in a bar for turning a guy down. Ironically, both had been victims of DV abuse from male partners in the past and had decided female companionship was what they needed. It would seem it's not always a sexuality based attraction, but rather sometimes, it's a safety mechanism to escape the hideous behaviour that some males (not going call them men because they're not) inflict upon women. I really feel for the lesbian community as they're relentlessly fetishised by men, ridiculed by society and have come under attack in recent years from the ridiculous culture war that rages on. |

That's the double standards of society. Women are praised on it cause people find it hot and the whole female empowerment push.
