If you had to pick one dessert

To have for the rest of your life, what would it be? The only parameter is it has to be something you typically see on a restaurant menu of any cuisine so things like chocolate bars, biscuits, every day grocery items are excluded. |

"Just one 😰
Maybe a lemon meringue pie. Maybe, I dunno. This is too much pressure. "
I was literally tossing a metaphorical coin between this and STP.
Went for that as it's easier to get a good one, but lemon meringue is top tier! |

"Think it would have to be sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream.
But the thought of picking just one is bringing me out in a cold sweat."
Haha sorry, I was a bit mean in asking this question knowing I'd have no intention of picking just one 😂 |

Yeah STP is up there, but it can be a bit sickly and not sure it wouldn't get too overwhelming eventually with all the sweetness if it was the only desert I could have. |

"Creme brulee, tons of it please"
I've tried this a couple of times and I couldn't get on board. I thought the cara_elised sugar tasted burnt and bitter and got stuck in my teeth but the custardy bit was nice! |

"Erm a dessert platter with mini jam roly poly, mini sticky toffee pudding and mini cheesecake.
Note the mini, it's allowed."
You cheated! But I respect the loophole so it's absolutely allowed. I'm just grateful you didn't choose a cheeseboard 😘 |

"I'd move to Copenhagen and become a regular at Bertel's Salon - anyone else been there? The cheesecake is exceptional and so many flavours to choose from "
Sorry, but if you're going to Copenhagen, it needs to be to Lagkagehuset for the best danish pastries ever. |

If I add Copenhagen to my list, I'm definitely noting these down! 😄 |

Some of my favourites are already listed so I'll throw in something ethnic which might inspire others to try:
Kulfi - it's a South Asian creamy ice cream on a stick that comes in various flavours like mango, pistachio and rose. |

Sticky toffee pudding -IMO the real thing is made using the Delia Smith recipe, which is the one I've always used at home. The ones I've had in restaurants are nowhere near as light as the Delia ones -so much UK 'restaurant' food is actually created in a factory somewhere else. |

I'm scared of choosing a controversial dessert like Sherry Trifle (made with bourbon vanilla cream and lashings of guilt-free Amontillado sherry)... ...in case I get shot down in flames.
I'm already 'persona non grata' |

I love trifle.
However, the OP said a restaurant type dessert. |
