Should Faceless Profiles Be Banned?
Jump to: Newest in thread
There is an option on the forum to report "incomplete" profiles but it's ambiguous.
I for one, feel that if someone has been here for over a week and hasn't uploaded a face picture, then their profile should be removed.
Face pictures are important for distinguishing between those you've messaged before and those whom you have not. It also helps us to know exactly who is going to be turning up at our door or who's door we are going to be knocking on and what we are in for.
I think transparency is very important in the swinging community. I'm not badmouthing other members or calling anyone out in particular but I am suggesting the way we should proceed as a site should be more modernised. For example, I've read from blogs that this website was created in 2006, at a time when computers and laptops didn't routinely have webcameras attached to them. OK, technology was a bit iffy back then but now, every laptop you buy will have a webcam attached to the top of the screen, it's not difficult to take a face picture and show who you are. I think Fabulous Entertainment tends to agree, with the option for reporting incomplete profiles there but I wondered, would YOU report a profile as incomplete for no face picture? A body picture could be of anyone, so could a picture of a penis and balls but someone imitating someone else would more likely be held accountable for identity fraud if they clearly displayed a picture of someone's face that was not theirs.
In the past online, not specifically this site, not badmouthing any individual but I've met people who are listed as being 40 or similar but they turn up and actually look closer to 70. I wouldn't be adverse to a 40 year old but only if they look 40 and not much older.
Have you ever been on a blind meet? No judgement here honeys, but how did you find it? I'm curious to know.

I've been here 9 years and don't have a face pic. Never have and never will. Should I be banned?
Just because a profile doesn't have one doesn't make it incomplete so what exactly would you be reporting? |

I think it would be more helpful to enable people to search more precisely. Those who only want to find profiles with profile pics should be able to do so. Personally I'd like to be able to search for couples with pictures of the man and the woman. I gather there are at least four but the search function doesn't let us go straight to them.
More granular searching would help with a lot of issues without excluding anybody. |

"

How about if someone isn't a site supporter they should be blocked from viewing user's public pictures?
"Face pictures are important for distinguishing between those you've messaged before and those whom you have not."
If you click into someone's profile it will tell you if you have messaged them previously or if they have messaged you; even if the last time a message was sent or received was years ago.
If you have recently sent a message to a user they didn't reply to you will actually receive a warning if you try to send another message that you must consciously dismiss before you can actually send the message.
"In the past online, not specifically this site, not badmouthing any individual but I've met people who are listed as being 40 or similar but they turn up and actually look closer to 70."
In this modern age you could always ask for a video call prior to meeting. This can easily be done without giving your mobile number or any other personal details away such as your email address.
A lot of people registered on fab work in jobs that are public-facing and/or don't want their friends, family members, coworkers, neighbours etc. being able to identify them should they stumble upon their profile on here. Any pictures that are made public should be assumed will be public forever including the site-specific watermark that is applied to them. Some people value their privacy which includes their online privacy. Their legal right to that privacy is not diminished by registering a profile on fab.
Anyway, just my tuppence dropped from my very high horse. |

I think it's more reasonable to expect that many people won't want public face pictures, for privacy reasons. Some people will be at risk of employment security, others want to evade stalkers and other dangers.
Ultimately, it's for all of us to manage risk and to mitigate issues ourselves. Search tools and filters do need to be improved for this and other reasons though. |

If you want to post your face, do so.
If others don't, keep your beak out.
I've shared my face pic with everyone I have met but this site is all about personal choice. Not yours.
You petulance is plain to see. |

"I actually prefer it when people don’t have public face pics"
That's actually a brilliant idea!
Just require everyone to take a full-frontal nude picture for verification purposes (tattoos, scars etc. obscured) from the neck down then it's just a case of a paper bag or two if you do decide to meet!

A photo is only going to indicate that they are either a male or female but not how they may look like on the day of meeting or month prior as many could say that they didn't look anything like etc |

You may be happy to show your face for everyone to see op, I wouldn't be.
I work in a public facing role and wouldn't want anyone from here to approach me, away from fab.
Theres been several posts where this has happened sadly.
I am photo and meet verified on both this and my couple profile,if that's not enough to say I am who I claim to be, tough quite frankly. |

To answer one of your questions, I haven't done a blind meet and never would.
I have face pics in private and happily swap that, once tmive chatted to someone for a while.
I tend to avoid those profiles that don't have any pics either, as I always assume (rightly or wrongly ) that they're hiding something.
At the end of the day we can all use fab the way we choose, that extends to what's on our profiles.
I get there are fake profiles ie men trying to say they're a couple, but what's to stop a man uploading a face pic of him and his wife and her having no clue she's on here. |

Nope, I dont agree
Im perfectly capable of sending a face picture to someone privately.
I dont need people copying face photos from here (it does happen in private chat groups and people keep them in private folders too).
I dont need my family, friends, potentially my older kids, neighbours and work colleagues seeing my face and body parts either.
Some of us like to remain private and non attention seeking.
A lot of people forget what goes online can always be found for years after. People copy everything these days and store it in alsorts of random places thinking its secure. |

If I'm chatting to someone I'm interested in, he would have shown me a face pic, and I would show him mine.
No one else needs to see my face-or body.
There's the option of attaching photos to messages, if you are a site supporter.

Most people have a mobile phone nowadays. You only have to search for the website and log in.
Even so, you can upload face photos and put them in your private, or friends only albums.
No one knows what kind of photos we have in private. |

Hey here's an idea... Upload a random face pic found on the internet and have it as your profile pic.
OPs 'problem' solved. A whole load of other problems started...
There are so many tools on this site, and people with free will and common sense (ok, maybe the latter is not quite so common these days) that this should never be an issue for genuinely keen users of the site. |

I don't believe anyone has to show face pic on here if they won't wish to. I don't and won't ever have mine on public view.
Trying to change fab to suit what you want is entitled in my opinion.
I am veried by site and by meeting on here and in the years I've been on here I have never found the need to have a face pic public just to keep others happy.
As for using it to know who you messaged before well the site tells you if you have messaged someone before and private notes help as well .
And yes I have done blind meets with people I have spoken to for a while on here in the past. As my first meet is always a social anyhow it's never been a big deal.
Do whatever you want on here op and let others do the same. |

I once went on a meet on another site after chatting for a few weeks. I drove 40 miles to meet her for a meal in a pub.I saw the state of her in the car park and the size of her backside.
She looked like my Grandma, she grabbed hold of me and slobbered all over my face. I thought she kisses like my Grandma too. As we were walking in the pub I thought I am not even going to go to the gents and slip away. So I turned around and got in my car, as I drove past her she was on the steps hands on hips glaring at me as I waved goodbye. It turned out when she messaged me later her profile photo was of her younger sister. |

It's not for anyone to dictate to people that should have a public face pic. Most of us have face pics and share them with those we want to. You interact with those that have one and that will be the way to do it I am sure |

That's what a social meet first is for! Nobody in their right mind would invite a total stranger to come to their home for a first meeting and nobody in their right mind would go to someone's home for a first meeting.
As for not having a pic up, I choose to keep this side of my life private! It's nobody's business what I am up to. And not I'm not married-I have a vast range of social and professional contacts and my sexual choices/antics are nobody's business. |

I never understand why people sign up to Fab then start criticising it
There is photo verification...User verifications, you can filter to the hilt, you can choose who you interact with, you can choose who you send pictures too facial or otherwise
People shouldn't feel obliged to have face pictures on show because others want to be nosey |

"So in answer to your question I say after 2 weeks if no photo the profile should be removed."
But as your previous post proves, there is absolutely no guarantee that a posted face pic is actually of the person the profile belongs too, so not much use really.
Like others I don't have a public face pic on here, but I have got verifications from actual meets. |

Have no public face pictures and neither will we, won't risk embarrassing those nearest and dearest with our choices.
Have multiple in our friends album, hence we don't accept random requests, a lack of pictures will put us off, but it's their prerogative as ours 👍 |

Seeing as you state in your previous post that they in fact DID have a face pic how would this rule have helped in your scenario?? Anyone can use any photo for a face pic be that someone else’s face or an old photo…
If you are going to meet someone it is up to you to either take a punt that they look the way you think they look or do your own due diligence - video call them, ask for a ‘proof of life’ photo and/or reverse search their pictures.
But the day you try and force me to show my face on this or any site like it is the day I leave and stop supporting the site - and I’ll bet I’m not the only one… |

see this is likely my autism and seeing everything black or white, but I don't see my sex life as something to be embarrassed of. and equally i would only vibe with people who are open about theirs. like no I wouldn't share it on fb "i just had a 3some lolz" but if a friend or relative finds me here then i don't really care about what they think, they're here too after all (i might block them though, depending on who it is). |

I don’t see why anyone should have to upload any kind of picture they don’t want to. If that doesn’t suit you then take it as your thoughts and ideals don’t match and move onto someone you do match up with.
This isn’t a one size fits all kinda site. People have their own reasons for being here and use it in a way that suits them. Don’t expect everyone is the same as you. Don’t lose sleep over it, or on people what aren’t a match. It’s meant to be fun here, not a ball ache, well, I’m sure a ball ache is what some are after 😆 |

I’ll happily show my face to an interested party as long as I’m interested in them and do so. I choose not to have it on show to all and sundry. I work for an organisation where being on here could run me the risk of bringing the organisation into disrepute. |

That's what I see on profiles a lot "no picture because of work". I don't see how it could bring your organisation in to disrepute, sex isn't illegal and as long as it doesn't stop you doing your job and you're not doing anything sexual at work, I cannot see it being an issue. Employees are allowed a sex life too. |

A private one. Not one they advertise for on swinging/sex sites. You can be sacked from jobs for crimes against morality.

I've had an upsetting issue this week with people (men) sharing my fab profile and telegram details without my consent. I will absolutely not be sharing my face photos on my profile, public or friends, anymore.
There is no need for someone to have their face in their public gallery if they don't want to. If you want to request a face photo, ask them to send one in a private message.
It's about the inappropriate and violating behaviour of people online who can't respect privacy. It's not about hiding or being deceitful. |

As others have said. Their jobs could be at risk if found out on here. My late wife and I were on another site. She had to inform her manager about being on site . The reason was if found by a profile . Profile could use to say ‘ extort ‘ her to help them . |
