"Barbie.. this and i dont want to" It's actually a pretty whip smart film with things to say to men too, not just women who were once girls. I went into it with an open mind because my wife made me, and I cried a bit at America Ferrera's big speech about the shit women have to deal with every day of their lives; it was real and from a woman's heart and if men choose to ignore that stuff then more fool us. Watched it probably at least half a dozen times since. It's not a "women's" film. It's a human's film. | |||

"Everyone is going to have missed films today other people consider classics. How many of you have seen "Forbidden Planet", or "Plan 9 From Outer Space" or "The Abominable Dr Phibes"? I've listened to Science Fiction Double Feature more times than I can remember... And I have seen "it came from outta space" And we know Claud Raines was the Invisible Man But have you seen androids fighting Brad and Janet? I've never seen Anne Francis star in Forbidden Planet... Do yourself a favour 😉 It's also quite funny seeing a young Leslie Nielsen as the dashing starship captain. You do know that Dana Andrews said prunes gave him the runes? And passing them gave him lots of skills? I think it's only right I watch them all at some point... Then I can figure out whatever happened to Fay Wray Oh, something went wrong for her and King Kong. I genuinely need to stop having a child's mentality" Nandos is a South African invention, and certainly it lived up to it's hype there. We lived just up the road from a 24-hour branch in North Riding in Randburg, and it was awesome! The ones I've been to here are oddly lacking in the sort of fire that made the chain so good in its home country. Ah well. | |||

"Oh Tarkovsky's "Solaris" is truly superb. Outstanding adaptation of the Stanislaw Lem classic." It really is, although apparently Lem himself wasn't a fan. The Clooney remake was terrible, and actually one film I wish I'd never seen. | |||
