I find it weird.
I'm nearly forty. I can't imagine anything I'd have in common with a twenty year old. We're in completely different stages of life and experience. I'd feel wrong even considering boning someone half my age.
I suppose if all parties are aware of what the actual gains from such a coupling are and are happy with that kind of often transactional set up, it's whatever.
But I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole personally 💜 |

For a relationship is more difficult because your reference points are completely different
If somebody is younger than you, they won’t remember the movies and music that you love and also younger women are likely to want to have a family at some point (even if they say not) are you prepared to become a father in your 50s 60s or 70s? |

To be honest you are both consenting adults, so as long as you're both ok with it I see no problem. I was seeing a 30 year old when I was 65. Some people wont meet others who are younger than their kids, and that's fair enough, it's their option. |

One of my friends on here I started chatting to when he was 20 and I 46. We meet up for coffee/drinks occasionally. I was a bit self conscious about the age gap, he was never worried. 🤷♀️
With everyone, regardless of age, as mentioned before, a quick videocall solves the problem.

It's about shared experiences and additionally, on here I'm a bit fed up with younger men asking me to "teach them" But yes, if someone very much younger came on to me I'd be wondering.. is this exploitation and be wary. |

This is what puts me off. My son is 20. So I'm just not attracted to people that age. You must have your filters set though?? Already open to the idea..so why ask?
Also, there's a level of maturity which isn't there for me. I definitely wasn't making choices at that age that were particularly healthy.
Having said that .. perhaps she is fed up with the immaturity of her peers and is hoping for a better experience with an older guy.
It's down to you and her .. how would you feel if it was your daughter putting herself in that position?
You will know if she is mature enough and that you're not taking advantage etc .. use your 50 something year old experience, knowledge and instinct. |

I’ve always gone with the idea of not going with anyone younger than my daughter (obviously when she became 18) but she is 30 years old now so I may have to re-think my position - but I can’t even get lucky with my own age group here on FAB, so I doubt trying younger would help 🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

My 25 year old daughter is good friends with an older couple with the man about my age and moreover they go on spiritual breaks/holidays with lots of others in a group. So a 50yo, half is 25, plus 7 means lowest is 32.
28yo, half is 14 plus 7 is 21.

As long as they’re legal and you’re both ok with it then I think it’s fine. You get some very mature 20s and some very immature 20s. As long as you’re on the same vibe.

I have a self-imposed rule that I usually stick to, of not getting involved with anyone younger than my oldest kid, which generally means no under-35s.
Aside from the eww factor, I just find too many differences in culture and upbringing and life experience. Basically I probably sound like an old fart whenever I start rattling on about how different things were in my youth (no internet or mobile phones, playing outside and far less parental oversight of the shit we got up to etc) |

No it’s not, but most men and I include myself are conscious about our age, don’t why but we are here.

For us age is not an issue . When you can get married still at 16 with parents permission , or a quick trip to Scotland it puts things into perspective I think . If the partner is willing etc then it’s nobody else’s business . But it seems people are more worried about what others might think . Which is pretty daft to me . |

Its more the actual age then the age gap, The brain doesn't fully develop until around 25.
After this age if you are comfortable and you both consenting adults, that is between both of you.
Its up to you OP at the end of the day.

I was chatting to someone recently who said they were 40. They sent several unsolicited pictures. I checked online (tineye.com) and found they were taken off a porn site from about 10 years ago. When confronted, they deleted their profile (which was only a few days old - another red flag).
But if she proves to be real, then as others have said, if she's legal then go for it - I certainly would. |

Ie a 50 year old partner 32 or more
